I purchased a Samsung Crystal 4K Vision Pro LED Smart TV because I trusted Samsung's reputation for quality and durability. Unfortunately, within just 1.5 years of normal home use, the TV developed a backlight failure, making the display almost invisible.
I contacted Samsung Customer Support, and an authorized service engineer inspected the TV. I was informed that the backlight had failed and was given a repair estimate of approximately ₹8, 000.
My TV came with a 1+1 year warranty. However, I was shocked to learn that Samsung refuses to cover the repair, stating that the second year covers only the panel and not the backlight. This limitation was not made clear at the time of purchase.
My concern is not only about the warranty terms but also about the quality of the product. A premium Samsung TV should not suffer a major hardware failure within just 18 months of normal usage. As a customer, I expected much better reliability from a reputed brand.
I have requested Samsung to consider a goodwill repair or waive the repair charges, but so far I have not received a satisfactory resolution.
I am posting this complaint to seek a fair resolution from Samsung and to make other consumers aware of my experience. I request Samsung to repair the TV free of cost or provide an appropriate goodwill solution.
