I and my husband had a home loan and a top up loan with Saraswat Malad Branch. My husband passed away on 1 Aug due to sickness. We submitted for insurance against loan claim with both insurance companies. Within a week's time, I received a lumpsum amount against the home loan. My home loan o/s was about 6 lakh and I received about 20 lakh. I informed the bank, the they debited the home loan o/s and froze my account with balance available mentioning that the top up loan has to be settled, which I mentioned to them that can be settled once that insurance is received. But they still froze the account and I cannot use the money any longer for payment of other dues. Neither do they revert anything about charges debited to my account in last one month.
