Hi, I am a small business owner, and I am selling watch straps and bands in India. And usually, I use all the courier partners available through ShipRocket to ship all my orders. I have been their customer for the past 4 to 5 years. And on December 2022, first time I used DTDC courier partner under shiprocket to ship my product to Kerala. After a week, I received a mail stating that there is a delay in delivering the parcel and the parcel is stuck in the DTDC Coimbatore office.
So I contacted the DTDC Coimbatore Office, and the concerned person responded to me that they had marked an inappropriate weight on the parcel and it could only be returned. I was continuously fighting with that guy to get the parcel delivered to the customer. Even though the mistake was on DTDC's part, they were so rude to me. Multiple times, they questioned me: "A mistake has happened; what can we do for you? We don't have any option other than returning."
After 15 days of fighting, the parcel got delivered to the customer. And few days later, I received a mail from Shiprocket that weight dispute has been raised for my parcel. The actual weight of the parcel was 200 grams, but DTDC has marked the parcel weight as 10 kg. Due to some personal reasons, I was not able to take action on the emails received from Shiprocket, and the window got closed.
And on 31st January 2023, Shiprocket has deducted Rs.931 rupees from my account stating that the claim is auto accepted. I fought with Shiprocket, but they were very clear in their stand that they could not reopen the case. I can understand that the window is closed to reject the dispute, but it is totally not fair that I was not able to reopen the case. Even though I explained multiple times that the DTDC has accepted its mistake, they were not ready to reopen it. I have shipped more than 500 products via Shiprocket, with the weight of each parcel not exceeding 500 grams, and it was totally unfair from my side. And I have lost my hard-earned money.
This is to notify other consumers about the services provided by Shiprocket and DTDC and also create awareness about these "weight discrepancy issues" so that no one suffers like me. And also, I request the Shiprocket to create a better window with good timelines and an option to "re-open" the cases.
