[Resolved]  Skoda India — Battery issue in 15 months skoda rapid

I owe a skoda due to its long lasting life and durability but here skoda makes me unsatisfied.
I have an extended warranty till 4 years while the service advisior states that your battery is out of warranty as it has coverage upto 1 year.
Are they here to make reputed customers fool by doing so they can earn? My car at around 7-8k kilometers reported power steering failed symbol and according to my knowledge i researced in service manual and found that its a battery issue unconnect the battery connector and reconnect and your problem can be solved and if not then you need a battery replacement. That time the workshop advisor said that these all battery will go in a year only and that's what happened.
I am enough capable to buy a new one if i can owe skoda but the issue is the company's image is decreasing continuously and that's not a good sign. Was a skoda fan but now i had enough issue to ignore skoda.

I have exactly the same problem - the battery needs to be replaced. I have 4 years warranty and they are saying battery has only 1 year warranty. If that is the case, why are they not revealing this information upfront at the time of purchase? With the 4 years warranty package, I was told that for 4 years or upto 60, 000 KMS, you won't have a single penny to pay behind maintenance. This is absolutely not the case.

I have put kept my car today for battery replacement for which they are charging 8500. The same battery is available for as low as 5500 with Exide dealer and they are discounting the rate by also paying for old battery. When I said, I will replace from outside, they said your electronic / electrical equipments warranty will be void. Hence, they are just cheating and looting money by 1) not sharing proper information at the time of purchase and later on, charging more than the market price on the spares that aren't even manufactured by them.

In addition, the external Exide vendor is providing 3 years guarantee and 1 year extended warranty. Whereas, Skoda is providing just 2 years warranty.

I would request you to look into this matter and have such malpractices stopped by Skoda. Since my car got in immovable condition, I had to have battery changed today. I don't have any option than to pay 8500 to dealer.
