[Resolved]  Skoda India — complaint against skoda india dealer/ service provider & manufacturing defects with skoda superb vehicle

I purchased a skoda superb from arshia motors, new delhi in 2010 registration number dl 1cn 1200.

Shortly after we purchased the vehicle, it has been creating problems and been sent to m/s arshia motors and m/s jai auto, new delhi for all service related issues and after sales support.

On two occasions, the megatronic part went faulty and has been changed twice (And it was conveyed to us that, our particular model (Petrol) has a faulty megatronic part problem and software issue by arshia motors and jai auto).

On the first instance the megatronic part went faulty in the middle of duala kuan road, new delhi at mid night in between extremely high traffic and on making several repeated calls to arshia motors and skoda helpline no road side assistance was provided to us. I alone had to manage to get the car on the road side as the car was stalled and had to arrange and pay for the crane charges. On our repeated communication and requesting, it took arshia motors 36 days to get the approval to replace the megatronic part and i was left without a vehicle.

On the second instance the megatronic part went faulty on aurobindo road, new delhi late evening in between heavy traffic and again like first time no road side assistance was provided to us by the dealer or skoda and i again had to arrange and pay for the crane charges. I was given an estimate of rs. 3, 75, 000/- plus labour plus taxes for the same part. On repeated follow ups and requests it took skoda 3 weeks for getting the approval for replacing the megatronic second time and again i was without a vehicle. I was harassed by skoda india and arshia motors for nearly 2 months without a vehicle for a part that is faulty in this model and is a manufacturing defect without any roadside assistance or support for a vehicle on which i have spent rs. 22, 00, 000/- (Approx.) rupees twenty two lacs.

The air conditioning condenser and other parts also went faulty because of which i had to use the vehicle without air conditioning in delhi’s peak summer and after sending the car to jai auto the replacement of parts took one week time.

On another occasion the fuel injector/ pump went faulty and was also changed by jai auto and our car was with them at their workshop for a week.

On another occasion recently the control unit for pet was changed by jai auto, mohan co-operative industrial estate new delhi. This process took 2 weeks for replacement of part and i was once again left without a vehicle. The part costed us an exorbitant of rs. 124, 192/ - which was later told to us by another dealer of skoda that the same part is a non - failure item and should have been replaced free of cost, also i was conveyed it could have been re-programmed and installed but jai auto who has no business ethics and integrity, and just to make money, replaced the part and penalized us for the same like every other time.

Fyi - the vehicle was also serviced at this point at jai auto, since it was due along with the replacement of ecm part and the unethical employees of jai auto are conveying to me now in their last email that my vehicle is 10 months overdue for service. It is not my fault as a customer if jai auto does not update their records of my service and they are doing it purposely to fleece the customer (Me).

Most recently on september 15, 2017 i drove my car to jai auto in a smooth running condition, only because the yellow sensor light was appearing. The computer of jai auto showed that the came sensor and crank sensor timing was out and this was personally witnessed by myself. I requested jai auto to kindly adjust/ correct the timing of came sensor and crank sensor which was purposely not done by jai auto and they insisted on opening the head of the engine of my vehicle.

Jai auto opened the head of my car without my consent/ approval and it is on record in my email where i have clearly stated to them that i will not pay for any diagnosis or repair for this vehicle since i have been fleeced by them on several occasions.

Jai auto has opened the head of my vehicle and has tampered with the engine of vehicle of which i have no knowledge. I had very clearly stated to jai auto that this fault will be repaired free of cost and i will not pay for anything whatsoever.in case they cannot repair my vehicle free of cost they should not have gone ahead and opened the head of the engine of my vehicle as i had not given approval for the same.

Service manager of jai auto on september 29th, 2017 after 2 weeks informed us verbally on phone that some chain is broken and repair work and parts replacement is required within the engine and the estimate of repairing my car is rs.4, 90, 000/- + tax and + labour which is not acceptable to me. This information is a clear lies and false, since if this part was broken within the engine head my car wouldn’t have been running smoothly which was witnessed by the employees of jai auto at the time they received the vehicle and also i have a copy of the report at the time of receiving the vehicle which shows no such problem when the vehicle was handed over to them.

Also, the fact of the matter is that this is a manufacturing defect in my car and it’s a non failure part for which i am being penalized and harassed by jai auto and its employees by trying to once again placing their customer in a helpless situation and blackmailing to pay for the same since the vehicle now is in stationary condition like it happened at the time of the replacement of the control unit for pet and other parts which they replaced before.

Service staff of jai auto are totally uncooperative and kind of attitude they have displayed to me (Customer) is totally unacceptable. I really dont know that in this last one month which other parts they must have tempered with.

Also an extremely surprising statement by skoda india after my car is with them for almost a month is that my vehicle is 7 years old and has done 92, 000 kms so this problem has occurred. This means that the life of the engine of a skoda vehicle is just 7 years or 92, 000 kms (Which means i should not expect any re-sale). Prospective buyers of a skoda vehicle must keep this in mind.

I have several other family and friends who have been cheated by jai auto and are willing to take a suitable action against them along with me.

Never expected a volkswagen group brand to treat and fleece their customers like this. Poor and shameful skoda india!
