[Resolved] Skoda India — Unethical Behaviour | |||
Hello My name is Shrenik Lunawat. My car got into an accident in March, 2016 and was repaired by the Saga Automotive (India) Pvt. Ltd. service centre in Jaipur. This was one of the most excruciating experiences of my life. First, in the middle of the process of me running circles around the service centre and insurance company, the executive who was handling my case changed. The new executive failed to cooperate and denied everything that the previous executive said and did. Due to this added with the clumsiness they showed when making the estimates, we had to pay approximately Rs. 2, 00, 000/- when we had an insurance policy that was supposed to cost nothing for such incidents. As the facts unfolded I found out that the reason was complete incompetence of skoda service centre in doing the only job that they exist for. They did not provide damage details and repair estimates of the external BLATANTLY visible damaged parts to the insurance company when giving the initial estimate. So, naturally the insurance company thought that those damages were caused after the car was sent for repair and not because of the accident. (attached is the copy of the correspondence between skoda and the insurance company) Skoda declined our request to change/repair these parts for free since insurance company declined their request due to their own clumsiness. Now, it had been several months that this argument was going on for and we needed our car back. So I took what I could get and got my car repaired paying whatever was necessary for the functioning of the car myself. Upon the return I got the car music system checked and found out that it was damaged because water entered the system. Now, my car's accident had nothing to do with water. The only reason water would've entered the music system was that a car with a broken windshield was left by skoda out in the open without any cover on it. The half-hearted repair by skoda was completed on 23rd December 2016 (9 months after the took the car in). This experience was least expected when I bought the car since the brand name of skoda is well reputed. This service centre and it's executive who dealt in our case were utterly useless and inadeaquate for the job. Even the insurance company says in the email " ... could've been easily claimed if it was seen damaged. It appears that estimates were not prepared with due diligence." Till this date skoda denies all these claims and I as a consumer am helpless. I wish this complaint causes some change in the way the service centre conducts its business and gets me the Refund that I deserve along with the Repair of the parts that were supposed to be repaired if things went the right way.
