I have travelled through spice jet flight no.SG 2449 from shillong to Delhi on 08.05.2026 vide PNR No RENEPW. The flight was rescheduled twice from 10.55 to 12:55 and 14:40. I reached to spice jet check in counter at appx 2:10. My hand bag has 8kg and i asked the customer executive for check in my bag as traveller is allowed check in bag upto 15 kg. However, checkin baggage of other travellers were on the counter. Flight took off at 15:00 hrs means there was sufficient time for check baggage.
The executive has denied the same for for check in baggage and forced to pay Rs 1500/- otherwise flight will be missed. In his situation, customer does not have any other option than to pay, hence paid Rs 1500/- through UPI.
Therefore, denial to accept check in baggage of one traveller and accepting of the other is against the traveller rights and strategy of overcharging/cheating by spice jet. This is defficiency of Services at the end of the airline, I have sent an email for the same from the flight itself before takeoff. However, refund of overcharged amount to me yet to be made.
This is a defficiency in services on the part of Spice Jet, refund my amount otherwise I will also escalate the matter with DGCA/MoCA/Consumer Court.
