Spice Jet Airlines — Flight delayed more than 6 hours

Subject: Request for Refund/Compensation Due to Flight Delay Exceeding 6 Hours**

Dear Sir/Madam,

I am writing to raise a complaint regarding the significant delay of my SpiceJet flight SG 291 on June 16, 2026

Upon reaching the airport in New Delhi, I was informed that my flight had been delayed by more than six hours. This unexpected delay caused considerable inconvenience and hardship. As I was already at the airport and away from my home city, I had no practical option to return home and wait for the revised departure time. Remaining at the airport for such an extended period resulted in unnecessary stress, discomfort, and disruption to my travel plans.

Further, due to this prolonged delay, I missed several important personal and professional commitments that had been scheduled based on the original flight timings. The delay caused not only financial loss but also significant inconvenience that could not be compensated merely by waiting for the rescheduled departure.

As a passenger, I had planned my travel in good faith based on the schedule provided by the airline. A delay of more than six hours materially affected the purpose of my travel and deprived me of the value and convenience for which the ticket was purchased.

In view of the above circumstances, I respectfully request SpiceJet to consider providing:

1. A full refund of the ticket amount; or
2. Appropriate partial refund and compensation for the inconvenience, loss of time, and disruption caused by the excessive delay.

I request that this matter be reviewed on an urgent basis and that a suitable resolution be provided at the earliest. I trust that SpiceJet values customer satisfaction and will take appropriate steps to address my grievance fairly.

At the time of the delay, I was already present at the New Delhi airport and did not have any practical option to cancel my travel plans and return home. Being a woman travelling alone in an unfamiliar city, I did not consider it safe to leave the airport premises and make alternate arrangements late at night. Consequently, I was compelled to remain at the airport for more than six hours, causing significant inconvenience, discomfort, and stress. Had the delay been communicated in a timely manner, I could have planned my travel differently and avoided this situation.
