I had booked a flight from bangalore to patna (Pnr: dy3vxg) to travel on the 9th of july, but was unable to travel due to my wife's health issues. I spoke to their customer service, where i was asked to cancel my tickets to get a refund of rs.5342 out of rs.9842) and then write to customer relations to get the cancellation fee (Of rs.4500) waived off. Since my wife wasn't traveling, it was communicated to the spicejet customer relations team over and over again that the infant (Our daughter) could also not travel and hence, we needed a complete refund of the airfare as it is on medical grounds. They kept asking for "medical documents" in spite of multiple emails and when asked specifically, they then asked for
Based on their request, i sent them the medical practitioner's duly attested medical certificate, apart from the prescription where it was diagnosed that my wife had high blood pressure, due to which she was advised medication and bedrest.in spite of this, they asked for irrelevant reports like x-ray report, lab test report, to be done. These tests are not done in case of high bp and in spite of explaining them that, they refused the refund stating that high bp and vomiting is not a reason acceptable by them to approve a refund of the cancellation fee.
Emails to nodal and appellate officers fetched me the same response. Kindly help me have my cancellation fees waived off as this was due to a medical issue. Was this information helpful? |
