Star Health And Allied Insurance — Escalated complaint against star health insurance for unjust claim rejection

I am writing to request your urgent intervention in a matter concerning Star Health and Allied Insurance Co. Ltd., which has failed to settle my genuine health insurance claims, despite continuous follow-up for almost one year.

I wish to express my deep disappointment and frustration regarding the handling of my claims. Although I have submitted all required documents and fulfilled every formal requirement, my claims have either been rejected or kept in limbo, without any valid explanation. My repeated calls and emails have only yielded generic and inconsistent responses, often from agents who appear to be uninformed or confused about the case.

It is extremely distressing to see that, while I have a valid policy and documented medical treatment, the insurer has made no serious attempt to verify my case—despite my urging them to visit the hospital and speak directly with the treating doctors. Instead, they have raised baseless doubts about the credibility of the hospital and medical staff, without presenting any evidence.

I was hospitalized for a genuine medical issue, and all necessary treatment and documentation were properly conducted and recorded by the hospital and attending doctors. The Star Health team even visited the hospital during my admission and took my photograph. Despite this, they have rejected my claim without any clear or consistent explanation.

Over the past one year, I have repeatedly contacted their customer support team. Unfortunately, every time I call, I am given a different reason for the rejection:

Sometimes they claim documents are missing (despite having submitted everything available).

At other times, they question the credibility of the hospital or doctors.

When I offered that they could visit the hospital again, verify the treatment, and speak directly with the staff, they refused.

It is clear that their team is either highly disorganized or deliberately trying to delay and deny the claim without justification. Recently, they are now citing vague rules and regulations, attempting to close the matter altogether without addressing my concerns.

I have all valid medical records, hospital bills, prescriptions, discharge summaries, and even the contact details of the treating doctors and hospital staff who are willing to cooperate in any verification.

I respectfully request your urgent intervention in this matter. Kindly direct the concerned authority to investigate the actions of Star Health Insurance and ensure that my rightful reimbursement is processed without further delay. Their current behavior is not only unprofessional but also deeply distressing during an already difficult time.

This has caused immense mental stress and financial burden. I fail to understand the purpose of having a health insurance policy if, during a time of genuine need, claims are arbitrarily denied.

I am now left with several unanswered questions, including:

What exactly is the reason for the claim rejection?

Why hasn’t the hospital visit or medical verification been done?

Why does the insurer question doctors without a medical board review?

Why has your team failed to communicate clearly and consistently

My humble requests:

Kindly instruct Star Health Insurance to conduct proper verification and re-evaluate my claims urgently.

Please ensure a transparent and fair process, with written clarification of any deficiencies (if any).

Help me understand the steps to escalate this matter further if not resolved promptly.

Please consider visiting the hospital or conducting an independent inquiry if needed.

Ensure such negligence is not repeated for other policyholders.
