I have been a customer of State Bank of India for many years. Recently, I approached SBI for an Agri Gold Loan of ₹10.50 lakh and was shocked to learn that the appraiser charges are now ₹2, 000.
Previously, the appraisal charges for similar loans were around ₹300, and the minimum appraisal charge has also been increased from ₹50 to ₹500. Such a steep increase is difficult to justify, especially for farmers and rural customers who depend on affordable agricultural credit.
Agri Gold Loans are intended to support the farming community. Imposing such high appraisal charges increases the cost of borrowing and defeats the very purpose of these loans. Many customers may be forced to consider other banks that offer similar products at lower charges.
I respectfully request SBI management to review this policy and reduce the appraisal charges to a reasonable level. SBI has always been known as a customer-friendly bank, and I hope it will continue to support farmers by making agricultural credit affordable.
I hope this concern receives serious attention from SBI and the relevant authorities. Was this information helpful? |
