Subject: Complaint letter for the poor service from SBI Patiala Chhoti Baradari.

Sir/ Madam,

It is with deep regret that I have to bring to your notice about the absolute lack of service in the branch, which is causing lots of distress and dissatisfaction.

For the last few months, I have been repeatedly sending emails to the branch to update my Canadian phone number so that I can access my online banking. I was requested to provide a request in writing to update my phone number. I informed them that a signed letter was already provided to them in Aug 2022 and forwarded them the same copy (for reference). Later, I received notification that my Canadian phone number has been updated and they also issued a cheque book and charges have been debited from my account for the cheques book.

My first issue was still not addressed regarding update of my Canadian phone number as I still do not receive OTP and unable to access my online banking ; instead other issues have been created by issuance o[censored]nauthorized cheque books and unauthorized charges were debited from our account without approval from the account holders. I was reached out by bank employee Gulshan and she advised me to send a signed letter requesting to stop unauthorized cheque books and also reverse charges which were debited by the bank. I sent a signed letter requesting for the same but to date no response.

We are nonresident of India and unable to visit the branch in person. Therefore, Only option to request services is through email. Unfortunately, we don’t receive timely responses to our emails and neither receive right guidance.

Since this issue was lingering for so long and was not resolved by the branch and I then reached out to the customer service looking for some guidance but unfortunately they also did not provide any assistance and instead every time were directing me back to the branch management although they were CC’ed in all correspondence and were aware that branch is not providing any assistance. I even requested them to share contact details of the complaint department, but they did not provide me contact details of the complaints department either. Therefore, no assistance was received from the Customer service center.

With utter disappointment I wish to inform you that unfortunately till date I have not received any assistance for below services. Their lethargic and callous attitude adds to the delay. I then decided to search complaint departments details myself and write an official letter to make them aware of the services we receive and also request to provide below listed services.

1) Canadian phone number to be update, so I can access online banking
2) Stop unauthorized issued cheque book
3) Reversal o[censored]nauthorized withdrawal from my account for the issuance of cheque book

Branch and customer service failed to provide satisfactory response. Thus, I want to request you to kindly look into this matter and help me by resolving all the above mentioned services.

I request you to take appropriate action to ensure speedy services and increase the efficiency of your service, to save our valuable time.
