Sterling Holiday Resorts — cancellation of membership and refund from sterling

Hello one & all,

My membership id is 1232820 (Hitendra tandel). I purchased sterling membership in nov-2016 and received the kit in january 2017. The sales person mr. Gourab ghosh promised us the following:

2n/3d welcome stay

2 years of free rci

1 week of international stay

2n/3d extra from andheri office (Attached is the mail from sushrut trivedi and gourab ghosh)

So, we were given a lot of false promises on which we are still living. Firstly, mr. Ghosh took an appointment and visited my home, explained all the details of the membership. We were quite impressed and told him we will decide on whether we want to buy or not, give us some time. He told us that this offer is only for today and you will have to pay a higher price if you do not enroll. We had no option but to enroll the same day. We were charged a whopping amount of rs. 101826/- and enrolled for a white studio (Product cost-rs. 302360/-) membership. There were different commitments given at the time of sales which now seem to be only for fooling people. We were told we can call anytime and we will get bookings (Which is practically impossible), sterling members get the meal and other activities discounts in sterling resorts (Which is the biggest lie).

So, we were enrolled and got our membership in jan 2017. Rci was received in march 2017 (Commitment was made of 45 days from enrollment). But after reading a huge number of complains about sterling, we decided to cancel the same within 6 days. But, gourab assured us that he will take care of everything and all and we had no choice but to keep the membership. Now, we (Me and my wife) decided to utilize 2 nights of complimentary stay which was given to us at daman-casa tesoro. I called sterling andheri and asked for a booking of 4 nights (Since we were promised of 2+2). So, now the andheri team did not know anything about the additional 2 nights (Which was not mentioned in the kit and gaurav asked not to mention it to on call which we received from chennai). Finally, after a multiple attempts we were able to contact gourab and he said that he has still not received the additional nights voucher and when he receives it, he will send it to us and asked to take only 2 nights. So, with no choice we had to agree.

So, on 23rd march we checked in into casa tesoro (A day before gourab messaged me on whatsapp and said we should try sterling properties in north and east, so as to feel the luxury of the resorts). And to no surprise, the resort in daman was not up to the mark, so i understood what gourab meant. We were allotted a room. The worst i have ever seen. Studio apartment with faulty window panes which cannot withhold the curtains. Furious me, complained and they changed the room with no better than that of the previous one. All the misery at the start itself. We had no option but to utilize what we have. Next thing, we wanted to make use of the spa, but our excitement ended when we were told that the person for spa is not available. Again, we wanted the taste the in-house cuisines, and as gourab told us, the sterling members would get a 30-40% offer on the original price of the food. There was none. Wow, i mean paying this huge amount and what do we get in return, nothing. So, we left disheartened after 2 nights and thought what can we do now after paying so much.

I thought that may be the only experience which was not good with sterling, hoping next time onwards it would be good. So, we decide to take up the complimentary week holiday and opted for maldives. I called rci, the rci agent said maldives will not be provided for complimentary, so i asked her what else i can get. She said she’ll check and call me back but till now i haven’t received any call. So i messaged mr. Gourab again, he gave the false promises again and said he will call back and till date no call received. It has been more than 20 days. I messaged him again and said let me know if there is any place available for us to go or let me know how can i cancel my membership. But no response on that too. Yesterday, after being so helpless i received a call from rci for explaining their details, i told her about my complimentary holiday, she said she can give me bali, but that too for 4 nights only. Now my question is if i have been given 7 nights why should i go with 4?

The sales person does not care to reply to people. You have no good services for public who are spending their hard earned money for on your products-which is only to fool people.

This might look like a long story to you, but this is what helpless people like us feel after spending the hard earned money on stupid things like sterling holidays-who does not care and value their customers.

I hereby notify you all to cancel my membership, take back whatever documents you have given to me-which are useless and refund my money or i will have to go to consumer court for all the false promises made by you, which i do not really want to.

Received a call from Sterling Holidays-Chennai today. Executive-Ramesh said he is calling from MD desk. As usual he promised me I will give you the extra nights, this and that. But the kind of services we have received yet which are useless, fake and just to fool people, I had no intention to carry on my membership with such an unethical company. So, I asked him to cancel and refund my money. He says I am not eligible for the refund and e-mailed me the same. Great, what a way of fooling people and eat up their hard earned money. Such people should be put behind the bars. I have recorded the call and I will be going the legal way, file an FIR against these people and get my money back. 1 Lakh is not a small amount and it is hard earned, why should I lose my money on such cheap people who do not want to give services and do no want to give people's money back. I have even emaied, Vikram Lalvani, Kumail H, Ramesh Ramanathan but no response from them as well. Seems all the people here in sterling are selfish, unethical who just want to gulp up people's money.

I don't want this useless membership. They tried to convince us that all this won't happen again but sorry people you have already lost our trust. This is last time I am warning to cancel my membership and refund my money before taking legal course for this matter.

Inspite of so many emails and calls, no one here is kind enough to cancel my membership and refund my money.

So, I think I will have to go by the legal ways now.

Refund my money back before taking it forward.

I wanted to cancel the service from 2016 and never recieved any money back. Total amount paid till now is 80000 inr in 2016 and wanted to use the service for the first time and recieved resort full message and asked to change the times and all kind of talk around the bush.. Need to resolbe the Issue ASAP. Please check the attachment for more detail.

I have been contacted by sterling team after i wrote a comolaint on there website. And got there response saying that as per there discusion they wont be able to give my money back as per there policy. Idont understand there policy is only to take money from the customer and not provide any service or there is none company in existences. Check the attachment of recent. Email sent from their team.

Again i been contacted by sterling people and they canacelation policy is withing 11 to 60 day, 25 % service charge and some other minor charges but first they sent me some random amount to agree and then secondly they jack up the amout still they are far behind there own camcelation policy. Its seems they even barhaining for the camcelation. Duly find the attachment for more detail.
