Tata Docomo — roaming symbol 'r' is shown while the number is used in local area

For the past one month am facing this issue contacted customer care but did not receive any response from their side. This problem started when the docomo was merged with airtel starting from jan 2 nd 2018. You can reach me through mail [protected]@gmail.com. Kindly give me suggetion should i port this number to some other good connection providers as the number is already linked with aadhar.

Updated by sharanya shylendran The handset shows Roaming symbol for local sim, while making a call also it shows roaming and the roaming charges are taken for local call .

The data connection is not working at all and sim is in "roaming" even in home network. Unable to use any applications as no network and internet connection.
I am unable to find option "Airtel" in the Network operators-manual selection, according to your messages.
Please help me to resolve this.

My TATA Docomo sim is showing Roaming Symbol "R" everytime. I complaint so many times past one year but all are waste. Please be a good answer, otherwise I compel to take any good network operator. Thanks.
