Dear sir/madam, I have purchased tata nexon xm (Diesel) befor 1 month and only 1 thousand km's ran. And i am facing problem with its engine and gear shifting. Engine problem: as i have already given feedback to the tata customer care that my car is not giving proper engine pickup. Engine is not smooth. Specially when my car is loaded with 4-5 persons and there is hill area or stip to climb then it looses its power for miliseconds and suddenly it gives 3-4 slags and takes pickup with final big slag. I observed this so many times. Tata nexon diesel engine is not smooth and doesn't provide linear pickup. Tata should improve his engine quality to make it linear to compete with competeters like ecosport or honda wrv. Gear problem: again sometimes gears got stuck specially on 3rd 5th & 6th gear. Gear [censored]fing is hard sometimes. It is not like this is my 1st car, i have used so many cars and also driven every band. But i didn't find such type of problem of gear shifting in another cars which i am facing with my tata nexon. I expect your quick reply and action against this. Sep 21, 2018 Updated by Vipul Giri there is a huge noticeable pause while accelerating the car. It happens so many time while driving and that is life threatening as while overtaking the car suddenly stops the acceleration and there is a pause in speed (During acceleration car jerks and feels like fuel supply is suddenly cut off). They said, I have received some software Update on my car. they will do it and the issue will get resolved. But im not sure with this update how this engine problem will get resolved. Lets see what happens looking for proper resolution. Also if its possible pleae look into this and ask executive of Concord motors Tathavade that really the problem is goin to resolve with this software update or not? Regards, The Tata Motors Team Sep 27, 2018 Updated by Vipul Giri I just received my car on monday after 1st service free service and with the diagnostic of the gearbox and engine problems. I had a test drive with the manager to verify if problem gets resolved or not. But during the test drive i couldn't find any lag in engine and i thought problem got resolved. but that happiness was for temporary. I parked my car in arking on monday and i started driving again yesterday (wednesday). After 2 minutes again sometimes my car was giving me the same problem. Car slags 2-3 times again to take pickup. Don't know why this is happening. Might be the manufacturing defect of the engine. thats why its not able to give linear pickup. The car suddenly stops the acceleration and there is a pause in speed. But sometimes it works fine. don't know what is happening with this engine. I think tata motors should improve its engine quality. And about gearbox its ok but comparitive to the other cars again its sometimes hard. but i am assuming it as a Tata standard for gear box. but for engine its not acceptable. Since Launch of the car this issue has been complained by customers. If still you guys coudn't foun any resolution for this then its really serious issue. I dont want to left my car again and again to have R &D with my car. Its really irritating. If this time my problem doesn't get resolve then i will file complaint in consumer court and also will tweet Ratan Tata on twitter aout this serious issue. Could be better if you replacemy car with the new one. Hi Guys,
I am also facing pickup problem in my nexon xz+ diesel from quite long. Below 2000rpm my car crawls even if accelerator paddle is completely pressed. After exceeding 2000rpm sudden torque is generated along with heavy engine noise.

I totally agree Nexon Diesel engine do not provide linear output.

Driving this car is so frustrating and tiring. Have pointed this issue several times to service centre but they only plug-in their laptop to my car and say NO ERROR IS SHOWING, we can’t do anything.

If customer is pointing any issue repeatedly then it must be thoroughly checked and rectified but sorry to say TATA is least bothered.

I have also send several mails to TATA and git same response i.e PLEASE VISIT YOUR NEAREST SERVICE CENTRE, WE HAVE INFORMED THEM ABOUT YOUR CONCERN.

I regret my decision to choose TATA over other brands.
