[Resolved]  Tata Motors — tata nexon - steering hard, abnormal engine noise, door rattle noise

Hi i am ramanathan natarajan, have taken delivery of a new tata nexon xma bearing the registration number: tn14s1488 from concorde chennai omr showroom on jan 4th 2019.

The below are the problems that i am faced with the brand new vehicle.

Issue 1: steering hardening at 30 kmph.

Steering hardness reported on: jan 6th via customer care toll free number. Complaint number:
Service centre check-up: on jan 9th service centre did a thorough check-up and confirmed that the vehicle has no problem. It's normal and a safety feature.

Given that, the steering hardening happens at 30 kmph i am facing difficulty in overtaking (Or) slight sharp turns which is required in city driving.in addition to that, the vehicle being new there is a significant delay to respond to the acceleration and that combined with the steering wheel hardness it’s for sure that the vehicle is up for a bang and is not a recipe for safe driving. Also, i don't see the same problem with other vehicles bought by my co-workers and the test drive vehicle provided to me.

Hence, asked for another nexon vehicle to check the steering wheel feel and the service centre was very specific about the same exact model and it’s not available with them to prove that the steering would be normal.

Issue 2: door rattling noise reported on jan 10th
Complaint number: 1-[protected]
Status: the service center in chennai has fixed the issue by removing the door and fixing it by servicing the strike plate.

Issue 3: abnormal noise in the engine chassis when accelerated at 60 kmph
Complaint number: 1-[protected]
Status: the service center needs a day's time to fix the car and asked me to drop the car with them to do the needful. I was told that, the fix for this would take at least a day & half and have to leave the car overnight.

I am not willing to keep on carrying repairs on the vehicle continuously. If the fix cannot be done within 2 hours, then it means it’s a manufacturing defect and i need tata concorde motors to replace my vehicle.

I have made calls to customer support, sent multiple emails & still not able to get a genuine response.

On the other note, i have also asked for an invoice explanation for which the billing team is still looking into.

I have learnt about the tata code of conduct and ethics and tata business excellence model in which "customer & market focus" is a key item. I don't understand why it would take this long to respond with specifics and give a drive in another vehicle of nexon to ascertain the issue. The trust and hope that we have on a brand like “tata” and spend our hard earned money is broken. I humbly request the tata team to look into this and revert the sale of the defective vehicle sold 1 week back.

Very delay service of your employee and they are not pick my call and not give my car on time..car accident was on 6th of oct18 but still now i do not get my car back.
