Few days back I received an SMS from Tata Sky to update its customer care nos. to [protected], [protected] & [protected] without any mention to the applicable call rates to the seemingly tollfree nos. On 24 May 15, I made an attempt to speak to too busy Tata Sky customer care at [protected] that went in vein. I had to keep waiting for 5 mins 42 secs during which I was periodically informed by the IVRS to hold for a never ending 3 mins waiting time. After getting sufficiently irritated, I decided to end the call only to discover that I was charged Rs 42 for that duration.
My concern is that as a customer of MTNL and Tata Sky for years, how on the earth do I come to know about the abnormally high applicable call rates on the seemingly tollfree no. Moreover I received an SMS from Tata Sky to call on the said number without any statutory warning of the call rates if any.
