[Resolved]  Tata Sky — Agonising 'NO SIGNAL' experience

Subscriber ID – [protected] Package – Annual Mega HD I want to close my connection with TATASKY and get a refund of my annual subscription. Engineers have attended to my next door neighbor’s signal issue very promptly within few days. Terrible service and discrimination. Problem 1 - minor, Only 9 to 10 useless channels were available sometime during February for a week. The problem resolved on its own. Tatasky engineer called me and bluntly asked me if I’m getting channels. When I questioned him what was the issue, he just replied saying "The channels are working now or not". When I asked one more time he bluntly said there is some problem with satellite. Problem 2 - major, Only 9 to 10 useless channels are available since 25th or 26th March. No.of days could be higher as we have not watched TV for several days during March. Work order 1 - NS[protected] - Opened on[protected] - NS complaint given by me on sms - Installer visit scheduled for[protected] and closed as ‘completed’ within few minutes. Nobody has attended or called. Feedback sms received. I replied with not satisfied. Called up customer care Feedback sms received. I replied as not satisfied. Called up customer care and selected option for No signal and waited for 25 mins. Got fed up and disconnected. Work order 2 - NS[protected] - Opened on[protected] - NS complaint given by me on sms - Installer visit scheduled for[protected] and closed as ‘completed’ within few minutes. Nobody has attended or called. Feedback sms received. I replied as not satisfied. Called up customer care and selected option for No signal and waited for 15 mins. Got fed up and disconnected. Work order 3 - NS[protected] - Opened on[protected] - NS complaint given by me on sms - Installer visit scheduled for[protected] and still open. Nobody attended or called. Called customer care regarding this on[protected]. Selected different menu option this time and got through to executive within 5 mins. They promised to attend to complaint and escalated the matter. Someone from TATASKY called me on the same day and promised to have it done by end of that day. No response since then. Work order 4 – HTIYHTV - Opened on[protected] - Complaint given on call by pressing 6 for signal related issue. Got executive after a queue of 9 mins. I explained entire history of problems. He said it will be sorted out soon and issue this work order. No response since 3 days. No calls received from engineers.

After a long wait some chap from TATA Sky's nearby technical office (Bangalore - Uttarahalli zone) came to my place to fix the issue after I convinced him many times to do it. This lady has denied service from day 1 for all those months. She denied service even on that day. The chap called me personally and offered to send another person to fix the issue if I could pay 300/- I offered to pay him instead of a 3rd person who I feared might further screw up the TATA Sky equipment. He came, turned a screw driver for 3 seconds, checked TV for signal levels and made Rs.300/. I had to pick him up in my car and drop to him to a location. He started his excuses on the local cable operator mafia as usual. I made some inquiries around and found that this is all just a hoax played on customers from apartments to make some quick money which is then shared by a group of people waiting in strategic points. TATA Sky needs to check out their local zones before providing services. It is very unlikely I will continue with their service once I am done with this annual subscription. They have tried to keep me happy by extending my due date and adding account credits but going through this local issue is just plain nuisance. Why don't you take some action against them?

[protected] afternoon : Got a call from Service personnel and they have refused to attend to my complaint since they are having issues with local cable operator. When I asked them why did it take so many days/month to explain this. They said they were calling plenty of people and now was my turn to be informed. Could they not have done this earlier instead of closing work orders for more than a month?

[protected] evening: I called customer care. Got to know the Service personnel had closed my complaint as "customer did not respond to their call". I explained the cable operator issue and requested a refund and termination due to no other choice. They requested TATASKY team will check local cable operator issue and let me know if problem can be solved. They have re-opened the HTIVHTV work order.
