[Resolved]  Tata Sky — false commitment, zero product knowledge and highest arrogance

I ordered an additional connection over my existing one through the customer care number of tata sky. They took down the request and scheduled a visit of the engineer between 4-5 pm on 19/08/2017. The technician then completed the installation and set-up process by 6 pm the same day. Due to some technical glitches at tata sky's end the activation process could not get completed. The technician and their local office did not have a clue about what was happening and why it wasn't getting activated. So i called up the customer care and told them about the issue, to which, they replied that it will be done within half an hour. The technician on the other hand talked to the local office and said that it will be activated after 4 hrs and had no reason or logic to this.
At around 8 pm the same day, the technician calls me and asks me to recharge the account by rs 200/-, which i do, but even then the connection doesn't get activated. I call up the technician again, but he says that he has left for home and would now be able to help me out only the next morning.
I call up the customer care again and tell them about the chain of events and ask them to activate my account as i have paid 200 rupees for activation as told by the technician and that he has left for home. The person on the phone has no clue on why that 200 was charged and why the account was not getting activated. I ask him to forward the call to his senior. He transfers the call to some mr. Prakash, who again has no clue and just keeps giving me false assurances.
Then i take the matter to twitter. The twitter handle of tata sky keeps engaging me again with false assurances till midnight and still nothing happens.
Till 10 am on 20/08/2017 my connection was not activated. At around 11 am, the technician arrives at my home to collect the payment. I ask him to pull back the connection and take it away with him as i'm fed up of the services. He then makes me talk to their local office employees.
Now, there the staff tells me that i needed to do a recharge of rs 200/- as it is mandatory for the existing account to have a minimum balance of rs 150/- to get an additional connection. Since by balance was some rs 90/-, the connection was not activated.

Now, the questions which arise are:-

1) this same local staff which is giving me this reason after 16 hrs for the account not being activated did not have any clue on 19th july at the time of set up as to why it was not getting activated.

2) why on the very first conversation and the time of taking down the request, the call center team did not inform me about this?

3) why on repeatedly calling the call center and tweeting to their handle, they did not have an answer to my query and kept me waiting for endless hours.

4) if it really was about the recharge, why did the account not get activated once the recharge was done.

This throws light on the following things:-

1) employees of tata sky are not trained and do not have a product knowledge.

2) they do not care about customers as in this case they just kept me waiting & waiting with false assurances.

3) even to this time of writing this, i have not got a call, a tweet, a message or any other thing on asking me the status of my problem and its resolution. This shows the arrogance of this company and insensitiveness towards its customers.

A strict action must be taken or the monopoly of this company in the market and its arrogance is going to make many more people suffer.

Since morning can't view any channel.The screen on the tv keep showing message "Your box is not receiving signal".It's more than 5 hrs now since the issue has occurred.The customer care number even is busy for last one and half hour.Request you to please fix the issue as soon as possible.

Please press the yellow button on your Tata Sky remote for your account information.
Mobile number should be changed old number-[protected] and new number-[protected], and i have tata sky in udupi karnataka. now i want re-installed in my home in pollachi.

My connection was deactivated on 23rd August (image enclosed) despite my having paid (recharged) till 26th August. Why? I have written many mails to Nodal Office but they have not responded. How can Tata Sky just deactivate a service that has been paid for... That too after information to the nodal office! In case Tata Sky wants to unilaterally disconnect my connection, I demand refund of total installation cost... Of course the company can take back it's equipment I. E. Dish, STB etc.
