I have been told by the Tatasky sales rep that i could simply switch to HD Mega Pack (South) by recharging the account with about Rs 7910/-. I asked him specifically if the set top box that i already have would work, he mentioned that is not an issue and that as soon as i recharge with the above amount i will be able to see the HD channels (as part of the annual HD mega pack - south).
I recharged my subscriber account [protected] immediately to make my total balance amount more than Rs 7900/-. I also got the SMS message that my mega-pack-HD (south) subscription is activated. But, i am not able to watch the HD channels as the message says that I need to upgrade the set top box also. When I called the customer service helpdesk, they are now saying that I do need to upgrade my set top box and that it costs something like Rs 990/- for a standard one and Rs 5990/- if I want the recording feature. I should have been told earlier that i need to spend additional money for getting the upgraded set top box as well.
This is unfair in my view.Also, the customer service rep asked me to stay on the line and finally disconnected the call.
I think my call is recorded. all the conversation details must be stored I guess for audit purposes. I would like to formally complaint for (a) misleading sales information and (b) for being rude enough to disconnect the call after keeping me waited on the call for some time.
