[Resolved] Tata Sky — Repeated problem with HD+ SetTop box and replacement charges levied by TataSky | |||||
I have TataSky connection (ID- [protected]) for over 11+ years and HD+ connection for over 6+ years. I have never had problem with the service however my box got issues 1st time on 12th Oct and got replaced. But since than the box is having issue every month and getting replaced. I get to know from Engg. that the boxes are all refurbished and they are repairing the same box and supplying back. In last 4 months, my box is replaced 4 times and TataSky is charging me 2-3 times for this repaired box. I checked the option for new box, but that too they have only one (1) option at 7890/- (under replacement). this looks like unethical practice of either keep charging subscribers for repaired / old boxes or compel them to go for new procurement at very high rates. Also they deduct the amount without your consent from advance payments done for annual package. Consumer Department / Govt. should take serious note of this issue of, 1) First supplying refurbished boxes and leaving charges for fault repair every month / 2 months 2) Not providing any options for service migration - but put up very high cost option to migrate (or live with problem) 3) Charge amount against the annual package taken without consent. My connection has been shifted from one location to another. Tata Sky has charged Rs.1000.00 for location change. My one set up box is giving message of no signal since very day of shifting. I have sent several mail to the tata sky customer care but nothing has been done so far.

I think you should follow-up with Tata Sky customer support. You can write to them at [protected]@tatasky.com or call their helpline number at [protected].They are quite prompt in their reply and will help you out. It is more effective way of getting your work done. The best part is it is available 24X7.
