[Resolved] Tata Sky — Replacement of faulty New HD Box | |||
SIr/Madam, I Milind Y. Paranjape ( Subscriber Id - [protected] ) have been using tata sky services for last 5-6yrs and I have subscribed to yearly Grand Sports Pack. In first week of November 2013 BBC news channel was blocked. When I enquired with the customer care they suggested me to change my Set Top Box because Tata Sky changed the signal format to MPEG-4, where as actually I was entitled to view that channel till end of my subscription. As per their suggestion I accepted to change my Set Top Box to HD Box for Rs.990/- . The technician visited my residence and changed the same on 3rd November 2013 and said that New Software will get downloaded in few days. From the first day itself the new HD Box was having problem with its Sound/Mute function. When I press the mute function icon displays on the screen but still sound is on. Secondly whenever Mute button is pressed no icon is displayed on the screen but the sound is off. In both the cases to cancel Mute function I have to switch off the mains and then again restart the HD Box. These faults are intermittent and not a continuous feature. So I waited for the software to be updated under the impression that the problem will be solved, but it did not happen after the software update. I called the Customer Care on 14th November 2013. Technician visited the next day and did a Master Reset of the HD Box, and said the problem will get solved. But the problem continued. Again I complained on 23rd November2013. The technician visited and said they will replace the HD Box and I agreed to it. But when Technician came with a Swap Box(which is a repaired/used working condition HD Box) I declined to accept it. I called Customer Care on 26th November2013, they replied that " It is their Policy to Replace a Swap Box in Working Condition for a Brand New HD Box ". This a good way of selling a Old Repaired Box for the price of a Brand New One which implies nothing else than " Cheating The Customer " who doesn't have any Policy but the company has a policy to dictate their terms as and when it will suit the Company. And this has caused me a lot of mental harassment and monetary loss. I hope my problem will be solved at the earliest and to my satisfaction with a Brand New HD Box without any Fault. You must try other sources of contacting Tata Sky to ensure your work gets done. You can address your complaint to tata sky’s official handle @tatasky. They will arrange for a callback and assist you accordingly or you can contact Tata Sky customer service. They are quiet prompt in their reply and will help you out. It is more effective way of getting your work done. You can write to them at [protected]@tatasky.com or call their Toll Free Number at[protected]. The best part is it is available 24X7. I am sure they will look into your matter and provide you a new HD set topbox.
