[Resolved]  Tata Sky — service complaint - refund of account balance

I'm shekhar ramarajan (Subscriber id [protected]) from mumbai and i've been a tata sky subscriber for more than 12 years now and i'm writing to inform you of the issues with service in general and the service technician in particular which have led me to suspend my tata sky services w. E. F. Yesterday.

To give you a background, i own 2 tatasky set-top boxes - one tatasky hd and the other tatasky+ hd and the connection is through an individual dish placed on the terrace of our building. Our society comprises 8 buildings with 2 tatasky common dishes on 2 buildings but not on ours.

I'd suspended services of my additional box (Hd) on 08/07/2020 due to lack o[censored]se given the plethora of ott content available. I'd also logged a complaint vide wo 1-28kvtqso on 21/07/20 for my (+hd) since the set-top box wasn't detecting signal and it was resolved on 22/07/20 by a competent and efficient service technician who not only set it right but also deepened the relationship by to cross-selling/up-selling tatasky binge to me. I was impressed by his dedication to both the company and the customer.

Little did i know that the joy would be short-lived as i would soon face the worst of tata sky services and service technicians. It started with a call to remove the dish from the terrace because of ongoing repairs which was logged on 29/07/20 vide wo 1-298wo25p. The service technician who landed up on 31/07/20 was the polar opposite of the one who'd come earlier. To cut a long story short, he went away leaving the work undone and cancelled the work order.

I called again on 31/07/20 and got another work order created wo 1-29e1uqm1 for which the same technician landed up only 03/08/20 (4 days as against 24 hours committed service guarantee) and removed the dish and he asked to pay him rs. 200/- for removing it (Which i refused) and walked away with my lnb too. Service technicians are supposed to be proactive but instead of suggesting alternatives he said that it's not possible to relocate the dish. Just for the record, the status of the call shows as cancelled because it was a call for relocation and which is why i guess he asked me for money since tatasky couldn't charge me.

His utter disregard for both process and conduct clearly show that it's not his first time treating customers like this. When i politely informed him that i've been a tatasky customer for more than 12 years, he has the audacity to tell me that it wouldn't make a difference even if i had been a tata sky customer for 20 years. Tata sky hasn't yet been around in india for 20 years and with service technicians like him roaming around unchecked, i really doubt whether it would too.

I then called the tatasky call centre to tell them of the incident but after being kept on hold on the pretext of being spoken to by the supervisor the call got disconnected twice without any supervisor coming or a call-back. I've since got my account suspended effective today and have called the tata sky call centre 4 times in all yesterday.

I have called the tatasky call centre a total 8 times from my registered mobile number from 31/07 to 03/08 and have spoken to them for an hour with each call lasting for at least 5-6 minutes.

For the record, i have 2 airtel postpaid connections and an airtel broadband + fixed line and they have been constantly wooing me with x-stream offers which are comparable with tata sky but i'd chosen to stick with tata sky because of both the brand and stupidly sentimental reasons.

To cut a long story short, this kind of experience is enough for me to sever all ties with tata sky. Please send someone to collect the tatasky binge dongle and arrange to have the rs. 968.98/- balance in my account refunded on priority.
