I joined The Chopras, Pune 3 months before for MBA admissions. I have payed them 16500 (part of my total amount - 32000).
I had a few discussions on call about selection on Universities. They suggested me with some information. Rather I would say I told them the countries I am looking for and according to my budget constraints.
They provided me 2 lists o[censored]niversities, for Europe and Asia. And thats all.
The told services Includes -
1. Universities lists and selection
2. Resume, Letters of Recommendations help, SOP help, Essays (a good number - depends on how many universities I apply - each university requires an average of 3 essay) ------- All these documents are considered as 1 point, but a lot of work on that.
3. Interview preparation and conducting mock interview.
4. Application process help (lot of work on this)
5. Taking care of VISA process and interview (lot of work on this too)
6. Helping about accommodations
7. Miscellaneous help (I might miss out few services)
Now, here the story begins. I gave GMAT this month, due to some issues I scored really bad.
I have decided not to give it in near future, and as I don't know about my coordinates if I will be in Pune or not, I decided to stop the service with Chopras.
I called them and explained by financial condition and pleaded for a refund, of-course cutting the payment for THE FIRST POINT - that too university selection was not done/ only the LIST THEY PROVIDED - CAPS intended.
After 2 weeks and continuous follow up, they called last Saturday and mentioned, they have given me enough service and they cant refund me 16500 - as in ZERO refund.
I spoke to them, pleaded more and spoke about my bad financial condition, my father being ill, a lot of responsibilities on my shoulder. But there was no luck !
I really NEED HELP to get back my money. There are more than 10 services, and they provided me just 1. Not their fault. But they are not refunding. They are cheating on me.
PLEASE HELP me get atleast 12000 in return. I have considered the 1st service to be Rs 4500

This time I have taken their consultation for GRE preparations. I am DEEPLY HURT and highly DISSAPOINTED.
1) I was not informed that the money which I paid in full ( Rs.26500) is nonrefundable.
2) I was told that it would be a fresh batch of students. On the contrary, all the students were at the completion of the course.
3) I was Not informed about the trial classes. There was a student in the class that was taking a trial class. When I complained, I was told that they have no trial class policy, it’s just his mother insisted.
This shows the double standards of the company. If you could alter your policy for one person then I insist that I demand the same treatment of relaxation. They could have given me the same opportunity. I just took ONE CLASS and I expressed my dissatisfaction to the counsellor
( Gaganmeet Singh Sabharwal ), Rajouri Garden centre, New Delhi, I requested him for the refund on that very day (10th August, 2019), which he refused.
4) The main impetus falls on the faculty. I paid the money to learn and understand the concepts. On the contrary, the faculty insisted me to come prepared for the class and gave me a pdf for basic clarification, that too from Google! Why I need to pay to the Chopras, if I have to learn everything from google?
My sincere submission is that a company, as larger than life, as Chopras must listen to the grievances of their customers . Customer or student should not be forced to comply with such baseless policies. I just took 1 CLASS, and I was dissatisfied with the service. My hard earned money must be refunded. They may make deductions for that particular class. But, I am strongly feeling trapped and highly upset with the Chopras. Their must be some work Ethics and no policy could be the LAST WORD. Policies always should be student centric.
I strongly urge the concern members of the Chopras to communicate with me and refund my due amount.
Hoping for a sensible response ASAP.
