We are not getting the newspaper sinceb july 2th on wards. This is geemon george from bangalore i am yearly subscription customer, i renewed my yearly payment on june 15th 2016 but i did not getting the newspaper since july 2th on wards. I call to our customer care executives to 5 times in this period but the vendor did not give paper. Pls clear my problem as soon as possible.

    Hi,

    I have paid for a whole year subscription of 'the hindu' daily by paying the amount online. My subscriber id is [protected] (Hindu reference id : w20160223esub0049). The subscription started from march 10th on wards. Since then, i am not getting the 'the hindu' newspaper regularly. There is frequent missing of the newspaper. Every week, i do not get 1, 2 or 3 dailies. So far, there are more than 50 days i have not received the paper! I called up the agent, complained customer care via mail, but no use. Other people in our apartment receive it regularly. People who pay in advance do not get the paper regularly and if you pay via agent after each month of receiving the paper, you can count for the days you did receive the paper and pay him accordingly. Agent told me for all on-line payments, this issue is there which i was unaware. Customer care person assured me from now on wards; i will be getting it regularly and closed the ticket. But after 1 or 2 days, the same story continues. Even now, i have not received the paper for the last one week (Last paper received was on july 4th) and given a complaint. The current complaint reference number is 084779. I just want to know if they are going to compensate me for the missing days (Around 50 days) as i’ve already paid them in advance.

    Please resolve the issue as quickly as possible.

    Hello,

    As an update to my earlier complaint on missing 'The Hindu' daily, they had changed the vendor and informed me that I will be getting an extension of 2 months on the current subscription. Since then (July 2016), I was getting the daily regularly without any issue. But the earlier subscription ended on 28th Feb 2017 and there was no extension of 2 months. I contacted them again and it seems they are unaware of the promise given. My earlier subscription started 10 days after the due date (10th March 2016) and there were frequent misses. Still they ended the subscription without any type of compensation which they have promised in words.

    Again customer care complaint has been taken with reference no. A007869, but no updates so far.

    Please resolve the issue as quickly as possible.

      Till now[protected] i did not receive the newspaper

      I made the complaint also (no. 080061 dt. 21st june 2016).

      Whenever i call the toll free no, they told the same think "we will raise the issue to the concern dealer and solve the issue"

      I send an email on 2-7-2016 regarding this to [protected]@thehindu.co.in, they send the response on 5-7-16, that, they will resolve the issue.

      But, nothing is happening.

      Again i send a email on 9-7-2016 to [protected]@thehindu.co.in, and [protected]@thehindu.co.in stated that cancel the subscription and asking for refund.

        I had subscribed to THE HINDU newspaper online for 1 year with student discount included at Rs 1548 on June 6th 2016 and the delivery of the newspaper was to start from 16th June 2016.

        However it has not started till now. From my side, I have repeatedly contacted their customer care with no concrete response from them. They just give a standard reply and I quote "We're are sorry for your Inconvenience and Surely your paper will start from the next day. Give us 24 hours".

        The thing is, I have always heard rave reviews about the quality of the newspaper. But the way their service has been so far. It's way off the mark and takes the sheen off it.

        After repeatedly getting hollow assurance from their customer care, When I finally asked for REFUND. The customer care was not helping to initiate the refund procedure instead evading it by giving further assurances.

        I do not know whether to call this a FRAUD or poor Back end / Sales work. But surely a disappointment all round.

        P.S. I am contemplating taking this issue to consumer courts or forums, if they are not able to either start the newspaper with extended period of subscription to compensate for the non delivery of newspaper OR Refund the money.

        Finally, received the subscription coupons for THE HINDU on 8th July
        2016 via courier.
        I have subscribed for the Business Line through ONLINE from 1-July-2016. But I have not recd the paper for 4 days including today, in these 9 days. Paper not received on 1.7.16 (friday), 8.7.16 (friday) & 11.7.16 (monday). I am very particular about MONDAY paper. Please arrange to deliver the papers immediately.

          I had subscribed to The Hindu on the 2nd June 2016. I was notified that I will start receiving the newspaper on the 16th . I did not receive the newspaper . On the 17th I complained about not receiving the newspaper, inspite of this I haven't received the newspaper till now . Please get back to me as soon as possible . It's been almost 2 weeks .

Also contacted virugambakkam, chennai area sales executive several times but no response received. Immediate action required. And also subscription end date should be extended for all the undelivered days.

              One year online subscription is a fraud

              I have subscribed for the hindu tamil newspaper for one year my subscriber id : [protected]

              I have paid 1299. They missed to deliver the paper for nearly a month. When i complained about it, they promised to extend the subscription after the actual expiration date. My actual subscription ended on june 15th but they have not extended the subscription and stopped delivering the paper...

              The Hindu, which one usually thinks is a respectable newspaper appears to be running a scam with regards to its annual subscription plans for both its main newspapers "The Hindu" and "The Business Line".

              I took an annual subscription plan for both these papers in the first week of May 2016. For The Hindu, the subscription account number is [protected] for which I paid Rs 499/- as per the plan details they shared with me. For The Business Line, I issued a cheque of 1150/- for the annual subscription. The cheque has been cleared, but I haven't even received an acknowledgement for that, never mind a subscription Id.

              Needless to say, neither newspaper is being delivered to my residence though both were supposed to commence on 16th May. Despite multiple complaints and repeated follow-up with both their customer service desk and their sales executive, there has been no action whatsoever. I have asked that my subscription amount be refunded for which there has been no acknowledgement either despite the customer care associate saying she will do so over the phone. I hope the Press Council and the Consumer Courts take cognizance of such devious practices and heavily penalize the company for taking customers for a ride.

                I've subscribed one year subscription from the hindu newspaper.
                Subscription id: [protected], i raised multiple complaints that i've not yet received a single newspaper till so far. The subscription start date was 16th may 2016. But no one was bothered to follow up on this and take it seriously. Many such complaints will be registered on this newspaper, can we have some strict actions taken on them for such acts. At least a full money refund immediately will help.

                  I successfully paid Rs 425 to sports star six month subscription. My subscription reference number is [protected]. A text message from hindu confirmed me that my subscription was successful and check email address for more information but I didn't get any mails from hindu. I don't know what happened to my subscription, and I am not sure whether I will get my subscription copy or not. Suppose if I not get my copy please refund my money into my account. Also please confirm me when I will start to recieve my copy please solve this problem

                    At once I saw tha ad in the paper I registered a copy for my kids and made the payment also and I received the following message on April 6th, 2016

                    Thank you for subscribing to 'The Hindu Group of Publication'. Your subscriber Id : [protected]. Pls check your email for more details.

                    Till now I did not received my copy irrespective of many of my complaint calls and even mails.

                    Kindly send me your mail id so that I can forward my mails which I sent to your customer care no already.

                    Hope that my issue will be addressed and I will start to get my issues ATLEAST AFTER ONE MONTH.

                      My broadband and internet both are not woking from 5 days i have registered complaint on 16/05/16 but till date problem not solved by airtel every day they says your problem will rectify tomorrow but tomorrow never comes. I spoke to mr. Abhishek he is a higher authority he committed your problem will be solved by 20th but nothing happen.

                        I too had fallen prey to the hindu website, one year subscription for daily news paper, as the other complainants, unfortunately, after the payment i learned of this fiasco or swindle by the hindu.

                        My subscriber id is [protected] and hindu reference id is w20160427esub0026, paid rs.1188. I hope all the issues will be resolved within reasonable time, if not, i expect the hindu to revert my money to the account.

                        The hindu should first straighten their services before liberating money from the consumers.

                          I am residing in Bangalore, at No 14 Horamavu Agara. I have taken an annual subscription to Hindu Newspaper, delivery commenced from 01 May 16.

                          In the first week, on the last four days, there was no supplement. I informed my supplier delivering the paper, Mr Lokesh, telephone number [protected]. He informed me that his agent was not supplying the supplement saying that he was not getting the supply. Lokesh also informed me that he had made a complaint to Hindu. after three days, the supplement started coming.

                          Again today, 15 May 16, there has been no supplement.

                          Please look into this.

                            Applied for an annual subscription of The Hindu. Money got deducted from the cheque but the newspaper was not coming. Newspaper was supposed to come from April 1, 2016 bust till today(9 May 2016) no paper came.
                            I have called customer care more than 10 times and every time they say that they have escalated my case. It is very frustrating that nothing changes even after contacting the customer care guys.

                              Sir, this is a complaint about a near by hostel at mvp, visakhapatnam. The quality of food at hostels is day by day declining in hands of the maintainers. I m a hostelite staying in a hostle since 8 months. Where i was provided a food of previous days or the 2 days back food. The hostler alone is maintaining without any assistance. No cleanliness in the rooms is maintained and if we r against it and are about to ask she makes her dog raise on us. And this offence is after paying the hostel fees of a month and she asks us to vacate the hostel if we ask about the food and if we demant the money back for vacating the hostel in earlier to the tenure.. We are given back less amount unfairly.. Please do inform the hrights of the consumers incuding hostelites regarding the rights of the act and they could demand the fair products back in services..

                                I have subscribed 6 months the hindu news paper on apr 18. Ideally, i should get paper from may 1st. Its been 10 days, i have not got paper. I have raised complaint at the hindu toll free number. They have taken just complaint, which has not been resolved yet although its been a week from complaint date.

                                I have only one question - "a leading responsible news paper group, who unable to resolve or unable to feel responsible for its own customers problem, then how come this news paper will resolve a nation issues?. "

                                    My order number for the hindu (English) newspaper subscription (One year) is 159086 on 25-july-2015. I requested for change of address in the beginning of april. I have been regularly following up with the persons who had taken order from me. But they are not responding properly.

                                    And these are my further complaint numbers in the hindu
                                    066206 and 067451.

                                    Whenever i call the customer care, i was informed that the paper will be issued in 1 or 2 days. But i didn't receive the newspaper yet.

                                    Please take necessary action to deliver the newspaper starting from at least from tomorrow onwards.
                                    This is totally a worst service from "the hindu"

                                      I paid my annual subscription for The Hindu on 31st March 2016. As per confirmation I was supposed to start getting newspaper from 16th April 2016 which I am not getting as on 6th May 2016.

                                      I contacted customer care for more than 10 times and even wrote mail to customer care 5-6 times but all in vain. There is absolutely no response

                                      This is not expected from The Hindu and will appreciate a quick response
