Additional Rs 20+GST for every additional block of 25 Channels (FTA or Pay channels)
One HD channel is considered equivalent to two SD channels for the count
Channel packs of service providers are filled with all unwanted FTA channels to ensure that you cross over to
higher slabs (i.e 125 or 150 or 175 channel counts in total)
You will have to pay extra still for pay channels that you have added as per their MRP/DRP
What is the solution?
Do not opt for any of the recommended packs.
While selecting the channels, make sure you de-select(remove) all hidden FTA packs before submitting choice.
Select all your required channels (including FTA channels) individually.
If you want minimum charges make sure your total channel count (FTA + Pay Channels) does not exceed 100,
Pl remember here every HD channel you choose is considered as two channels in the count.
This way you can ensure you pay only for what you watch and more importantly what you WANT!
This is perfectly legal as per TRAI but Whether your service provider would allow you this freedom
is anybody's guess!!!
