Uber India — fraudulent practices by uber

Yesterday night we took uber ride. The distance traveled was 3km for which according to the uber app on my phone showed Rs 77 but the driver asked me to pay Rs769 in cash according to his app. Since, in the past even after making a paytm payment uber driver asked me to pay more in cash and asked me to sort it with uber if getting over charged. After making the payment I reached out to uber where uber denied refunding the payment and mentioned that it was my fault that I paid extra to the driver and that they can't do anything about it. Hence, I denied making the payment this time which was 10times more than the actual bill. I insisted the driver to sort this with uber helpline as I had no outstanding balance and no outstanding payments for any of my past rides. After sometime he became impatient and started misbehaving with us. He wasted 3:30mints of our time, pushed my friend and also shouted at my female friends and asked them to leave while he gathered more drivers to support him. Due to his behavior we had to call cops and later had to go to police station. This incident started at 22:20hrs.This vehicle didn't even have the number plate at the back. The police asked us to file a complain against him for his behavior, however as we understand while his behavior is not acceptable it is a miss from uber where such errors are made and leads to so much of chaos. Uber is not bothered about its customer. The police man spoke to uber helpline for the driver as there was no customer service available for the customer after the ride ends. He was told that we can pay it to the driver and uber will sort it for us once we lodge a complaint with them. It is so unsafe for a lady to travel at night via uber where the customer is treated miserably and also collect money from them fraudulently. We paid the driver by cash and also let the driver go, showing humanity despite his unruly behavior. Once we reached home we raised a complaint on uber app to which we got a call the next day by so called investigation specialist who apologized and mentioned that she would refund the money for this incident as well as the previous one and will take action on the driver's behavior. Since, she mentioned that the entire refund will be in uber wallet I asked to get it refunded to my bank account or PAYTM as I am scared o[censored]sing uber services and may not be able to use the wallet amount to which she said she will callback in sometime which never happened. Later to my complaint on the app I received a message stating a payment of a ride that was taken by me in the month of October last year did not go through and that they have adjusted in the current bill. Even though I had taken 10 rides since October last year. Nor does the outstanding amount reflect in my app. Also, they again mentioned that other ride for which the driver charged us more that can't be refunded since it was my fault that I paid the driver. After all the stress, embarrassment, harassment and wastage of our time, that we went through uber denied helping us nor refunded our money. THIS IS NEW APPROACH AND NEW WAY UBER HAS COME UP WHERE THEY BILL YOU FOR SERVICE THAT YOU NEVER TOOK AND Send UNPROFESSIONAL DRIVERS WHO MISBEHAVE AND DOESN'T LEAVE YOU UNTIL HE COLLECTS THE MONEY INCASH WHICH LATER NEVER GETS REFUNDED. THIS IS GOOD WAY OF CHEATING AND ROBBING A CUSTOMER.
