Uber — non refund of money I had to pay for toll because driver didn't have cash | |||||
I took a uber cab (Hyundai xcent ts06ub5633) on jan 23, 2018 in hyderabad near maulana azad university to the airport. The driver's name was krishnaih ([protected]). As we neared the airport, we had to cross a toll booth. The driver told us that he did not have any cash and we need to pay the toll (Rs 40). He also told us repeatedly that it will be refunded to us as he will email the uber team about this. Since we didn't have any choice, we paid the toll booth and reached the airport. We paid the driver through paytm as that was pre-chosen on the app. When we didn't get any refund for next 2-3 days, i put a complain to uber through the app. The response was "the mode of payment that was selected for your last trip was a non-cash mode of payment and unfortunately you paid in cash for the trip." basically we got cheated and frauded by both driver and uber. Uber refused to contact the driver despite having all details of the driver and verify the complaint and ask him to refund the money to us. This is extremely poor service and the customer service was horrendously unhelpful. Was this information helpful? | |||||
