Vespa — scooter | |||||
Sir, I am working for central ministry of labour & employment and am stationed at trivandrum. I have purchased a vespa - lx scooter in march 2013. I am facing few prominent technical issues with my vehicle since the day i have purchased this scooter. I have approached the authorized service centres, to rectify the complaints but none of them couldn’t appease my problem. I am stating these persisting problems below: 1. The self-start function of my vehicle is not effectively working since the day i have purchased the vehicle. I am a lady and i prefer to rely upon the self - start function. But, self-start won’t work if the vehicle is idle for 2 or more hours. I am a working person and all the time i use the vehicle, i am bound to kick start the scooter. This is giving me physical and mental strain in all events. 2. The front wheel tyre is evidently worn out and there is a distinct possibility of the scooter to skid off and high risk of accident while on road. I have pointed out the problem to the service technicians, and they have left me disappointed by claiming that ‘all vespa scooters have the same issue of front wheel tyre wear-off and it is vespa company’s manufacturing issue’. I have purchased a vehicle for safe riding and why should i risk my life by paying you a big amount for a defective vehicle model. 3. On 16.02.2018, i have contacted the showroom itself on this fear of risking my life, and they are claiming that if the front shock absorber is replaced the problem of tyre ‘wear and tear’ will be rectified. But the last time which i have replaced the front shock absorber was on 22.06.2017 and this replacing procedure cost me around 1400 rupees. I can’t digest the claim because life of a shock absorber is, not this much short on normal roads and i myself had learnt that with 8 months use of a new shock absorber, the problem of tyre wear-off continued much to my surprise. Apart from this, the money i had invested to rectify the problem was wasted and the belief i had in your company’s service was ruptured. All the time i approach your authorized service technicians, it costs me great money loss in the name of servicing and replacing parts. I am presently in much grief and frustration on your services. Apart from this i am anxious on my safety driving your company’s vehicle, which i have owned. I would like to inform you that i need an urgent remedy for this problem from your end. I hope that all the afore said problems will be at once addressed and rectified for me and you will ensure me a safe vehicle, unless which i will be forced to undertake legal action for providing me a defective vehicle.
