[Resolved]  IFB Washing Machine Model Elena Dx 5.5 Kg — Horrible product and machine

We had purchased IFB washing machine model Elena DX 5.5 kg on 20/01/2009. The warranty period for the same was till 19/01/2013. Our experience for this product has been extremely painful. Below are the series of times this machine had to be repaired.
During the warranty period itself the machine broke down abd was repaired twice or thrice. Since it was i the guarantee period we were not charged.
Later on 2nd Jan 2013 again the machine stopped working and we made a complaint (machine was in warranty period). After repeated calls for several days the technician came and changed the rubber, sleeve and V-belt and charged us Rs. 1900/-. Also he didn't return the faulty parts. This has created an impression that may be those parts are repaired and used again.
Again on 15th March 2013, the washing machine got spoilt. The engineer after examining the machine gave an estimate of Rs. 7,150/-. Since the Tub, V belt, shock absorber, MSO card had to be replaced. Thinking that since almost everything in the machine has been changed we paid the amount expecting it to work fine. However again we were wrong.
On 1st week of May again, the machine started giving problems. I gave in a complain but was said by Mr.Manjunath that the technician was going to his native place and he will be coming only after two weeks. No other technician was sent so our complaint remained unattended. Till last week no one came to have a look. Then after repeated calls on Tuesday 21st May 2013, the technician came and said that the V-belt needs to be replaced again.
We are really angry, upset that a reputed company like IFB is giving such product and service.
Before IFB machine, we had Whirlpool washing machine and it worked without any complaints for 10 years. We regret going in for IFB brand and will never recommend to anyone henceforth.

IFB Washing Machine, Model-Elina — regarding service

Service engenier have opened my washing machine and changed some 10 parts, now he is saying that we are not having nut bolts to fit those parts.
i am alredy given payment against those parts (whichever are replaced)
but my washing machine are still not working, please provide a solution regarding this.

i am given a cheque for AMC also. can i stop this ammout.

IFB Washing Machine (Elena) — Non Repair of IFB Washing Machine

I have an annual maintenance contract with IFB. But since the last three weeks, the company has been giving false promises that the machine will be set right. Every time I call, they give a new date, and when I call on the date they promised to come, they give a new date saying that the motor part is not in stock.
Imagine having a machine at home that is not working. Could you please take up this issue strongly with the company. Like me there are many customers who are made to dance. Without a proper service back up and spare parts
how can the company sell products

Respected Sir,

The technician came in and repaired the washing machine after I lodging this complaint, however again since 2-3 days the machine has started giving problems. All this is such a torture/harassment for Senior Citizens. My parents stay alone and they had taken this machine for their convenience but this is actually a nuisance for them. They didn't keep a maid for clothes since they had the machine, however my Mom now who is above 60 years, has to wash it herself.
My dad received a call from IFB company and the lady just asked if the machine was working fine now. However it was too early for him to comment if the machine was working fine since it was only a day or two since it was repaired. And he said the same thing to her. However after that there was no follow up from their end.
Now its just 10 days and again the machine has gone for a toss. They have been trying to call the company technician, however there is no response from their end.
I think some one Senior person from the company should look into this matter. I think the reputation of the company is at stake with the number of complaints that are being reported regarding IFB washing machines and some serious action needs to be taken to save the repo of the company.

I hope to get some good response and some action done regarding this complaint.
