I am writing to bring to your attention that we have been cheated by your Whirlpool service center, Magic Technologies in Delhi, as they overcharged us for parts that were neither necessary nor replaced.
We sincerely request your assistance in processing a refund for the unjust charges and urge you to take strict action against the service center to prevent further customer dissatisfaction. If satisfactory action is not taken, I, as a customer, will be hesitant to purchase any Whirlpool products in the future.
Below are the details of my complaint:
Our Whirlpool Refrigerator (IF 455 C / 2022) stopped cooling in the lower section, although the freezer was functioning properly.
We logged a complaint on January 28th, with reference number DEL[protected].
A technician from Magic Technologies visited our home on the same day (January 28th). Without conducting thorough fault detection, he claimed that two parts needed to be replaced: the motherboard and the cooling fan motor. He provided an estimate of approximately Rs. 7, 800 for the parts plus service charges, totaling Rs. 8, 380.
I requested an explanation as to why the motherboard was faulty, given that the freezer was still working, but the technician was dismissive and insisted that I pay the full amount in advance to have the issue resolved. Left with no choice, I made the payment (via UPI) of Rs. 8, 380, as instructed, to the number [protected] (Lalit Kumar, UPI Ref:[protected]. A screenshot of the transaction details is attached.
The technician confirmed that the parts would be available within the next 2-3 working days.
However, we did not receive any updates from the service center until February 3rd . When I followed up, I was told that the parts would take a minimum of 7 working days to arrive.
At this point, I contacted Whirlpool customer care (Request# DEL[protected]) and expressed my concerns about the advance payment and the lack of a proper investigation. They provided me with the contact number for Mr. Lalit Kumar (seems manager/owner of the service center).
After discussing my doubts with Mr. Lalit regarding the fault detection, he promised to send an experienced technician.
The second technician visited and identified that only the motor fan required replacement. He mentioned that they would monitor the fridge for a few days, and assured me that the cost for the motherboard (~Rs. 6, 000) would be refunded. Same I have updated as feedback on the receipt (PFA a copy of receipt)
I received two follow-up calls from the technician to inquire about the refrigerator’s performance. However, he told me that I would need to contact the service center directly for the refund.
Despite numerous attempts to reach the service center, they have stopped answering my calls.
Please find attached copies of the receipts from the Whirlpool service center and the payment details.
I kindly request you to look into this matter, assist in processing the refund for the part that was not replaced, and take appropriate action against the service center to ensure better customer service in the future.
