Xiaomi India — Declining to service the phone under warranty | |||||
I have recently bought mobile through amazon India. It is on June 25th, 2016. It is Redmi Note 3 - 32 GB - Space Grey model. Within a month after usage, the non-removable battery inside the mobile keeps expanding, and because of that, outer shell and cover of the device came out of its position due to expansion. I have send this to xiaomi service center for servicing, and they have denied to take this phone for warranty service and they are asking 1836 rupees for servicing. And every customer care persons involved replying the same ready-made answers when contacted. See below their response. "I would like to inform you that our service centre executives are well trained experts and they will never misguide you regarding the charges or regarding the issues of the device and any physical or liquid damage cannot be covered under warranty and the charges incurred need to be paid by the customer. " They don't even respond what is the problem here to do with physical damage. The problem is battery and it cracks open all other parts in the device. Its a serious defect in the phone, and the continued usage might cause serious damage like explosion short circut etc. I wanted them to realize their pathetic customer care behavior and resolve my issue.
