[Resolved] Yamaha Motor India — Regarding front shock absorber leakage (Replacement under warranty)
Dear sir, I am ashok, Bike -FZS purchased on 24th sept 2013. My bike completed around 11800kms. Recently i found that my front shock absorber leaking, i complained to yamaha dealer in bokaro. They are not ready to replace it even if it is under warranty and making excuses of changing only Oil seal and i have to bear that cost (Because oil seal doesn't come under warranty as per their claim). So whenever in next month if it leaks then again they will change oil seal, also i have to bear that charges. My question is why they are not changing shock absorber which is under warranty. If shocker is having dent or high roughness or anything which again cut oil seal then i have to pay charges again and again even if this is under warranty. Why quality is low and customer handling is bad. Kindly help me to solve my problem ([protected]). Ashok. Was this information helpful?

Same problem is in my bike my bike running km is only 5500 km front shocker leaked and they costed it rs.550 and not included in warranty
Very poor service and spares quality. They keep on cheating customers. Even I faced front shock absorber leakage one after another in just 14000 km. one shock absorber (Right one) was repaired in yamaha service center with original oil seal which costs Rs 250 and another (Left one) was repaired in outside bike service station with duplicate oil seal costing just Rs 75. After completing 26000 km.. Right shock again leaked and oil seal was again changed in yamaha service center. Now my bike is at 47000 km and again the right shock absorber is leaking. Left shock absorber is still good with duplicate oil seal. This proves the spares quality of yamaha. Same was the case with chain and spoket set.. first change was at 16000 km in yamaha service center with original set, second change at 23000 in local bike service center.. spare price was 700 less than original and it is still good at 47000 km. so another proof of spares quality.
when my FZS was at 6000 km, I complained for poor pickup in my bike... and I was suggested for clutch plate replacement. I denied that and the same clutch pate still going at 47000 km. poor pickup problem was due to improper valve clearance which yamaha service center always denied and hence was rectified at a local bike service center.
There were many other problems in my bike and was thoroughly rectified at different local bike service stations. Almost 80% of customers have similar problems and are looted badly at yamaha service centre. Customer care is of no use, it has been setup just for formality. And there is no one to look after this. This makes companies like this to come and cheat people in India.
FZS is a good bike with poor fuel efficiency and yamaha policy on customer handling is very poor. They always try to extract money from customers unnecessarily. And corruption at higher levels are making their loot job easy.
So better don't go for yamaha bike next time and suggest others too to stay away from it.

Dear sir, I am Ayush, My bike fzs f1 covers 5000 km and its front suspension oil is leaked . I think its come in warranty but when i went to service centre in faridabad they will charge me 550rs for suspension oil and the service is so poor
Yamaha Bikes have got worst front forks- shock absorbers. I have tuned forks many times due to either fork bend or internal cone failure or fork oil seal failure. They charge us heavy for tuning each time. I wonder why these parts are of so low quality. If Yamaha doesn't take it serious then ppl will lose faith on Yamaha's identity. Also one more worst thing is the wheel bearings wearing out quickly. I think now a days they are replacing OE parts with cheap quality spares which results in this kind of failure.
Dear Friends
I own a Yamaha FZ S V2.0 in Bangalore, brought in Mar 2016, Till now 21500 KM done, i had a problem in my chain during 2000 KM, when inquired at Yamaha service center they told to replace the whole chain - sprocket set .One of my friend suggested to take to local mechanic, he removed a chain link and installed it again, after that the chain lasted till 20000 Km, now at 21500 my front Suspension is leaking badly . Please do suggest a better solution for this leakage problem
what i found from vehicle and the Yamaha service is - The vehicle quality is good, My bike is delivering me a staggering 42 - 45 kmpl in Bangalore roads and approx 45 Kmpl on high ways with optimum speed between 70 - 85 km/H amd also performs very well . But when i gave to service they had tuned my engine very badly and our parts been replaced for some other bikes
Even though Yamaha giving good bikes, the local outlet-service centers are cheating the customers by forcing to replace their parts well before they worn out / get damaged in order to make money in spares .
so please be careful and at the Yamaha service centers especially while getting spares replacement done
