I ordered food from Aminia, Sodpur through Zomato. The valet arrived soon with the order. He called me. My mother in law, a senior citizen, had to receive the order since I was working from home. The valet Nepal Bag, partly vaccinated 19 year old boy, gave the food in her hand and immediately snatched it again from her and ran away. Bewildered by this, my mother in law came upstairs and told me the matter. I checked the app and saw that the order is showing delivered. Immediately I contacted Zomato agent via chat. Sweta called me. I told everything. She put us (me and valet) on conference call. I asked him why he did it. He strongly denied the fact. He blamed me of lying. When I threatened of calling the police because it is theft, he agreed that the food is with him. He argued of our receiving the food late. Zomato has all call details and you can check that he had called twice and I told him to come inside our complex premises instead of standing outside. Anyways Sweta insisted that he would come back and give the food. He agreed and came back to deliver the same. My husband accompanied me downstairs. I collected the food which he was still reluctant to give. Seeing this my husband told him that he will hand him over to the police. Hearing this instead of being apologetic he was arrogant and furious and started bitting my husband. Also he took a brick nearby and tried to hit us. I stopped him. He then fled. I have already complained about this to Zomato. Even Sweta was over phone at that time with me. She knows everything and has the call details. Being a customer, I was very disappointed and I agree I was very upset. I could not imagine that he misbehaved with my mother in law and then he was lying about everything. I understand it may be difficult for him too. But that do not justify his misbehavior. I strongly condemn Zomato for not giving enough salary to his valets. I am frightened for the security issues of my family. And Zomato is off course responsible. Nowadays the valets come by cycles which may be hectic. It may be that the valet is hungry and going through tough times. Zomato should do proper counseling of their valets. Why should a customer be harassed? I am scared to order food now. Zomato please hire responsible delivery boys! Do not hire antisocials!! We customers can make or break you.
