I am writing this to inform about an recent order that I placed with Zomato.
My order was returned stating that the delivery boy was not able to reach out and my phone was not answered in time.
The matter of the fact is since the order was placed with exact address details where the food needs to be delivered. The delivery person did not even make an attempt to find the house and deliver. Instead he kept on telling that my number is not reachable and returned the food to the restaurant (Not sure how true is that). When I contacted Zomato customer care, they replied with the standard automated reply stating as below. Please see the complete conversation detail as below
"Hi There,
We regret for a delayed response.
As per our records, your order was cancelled because we were not able to connect with you. Our logistics team and support team tried to contact you but the calls were not answered.
Due to this issue, a cancellation fee has been levied equivalent to the order value and we won't be able to refund the same.
Feel free to reach out to us in case of any queries / suggestions.

Concern here is-
1)When the complete address was mentioned with the House Number and all the necessary details, why an effort was not made by the delivery boy for door delivery. I did not see anyone ringing the bell or even a knock.
2) Even if the number was not reachable,
a) why there was no reattempt after few minutes. When I called your boy he said he returned the parcel back to restaurant.
Why did he not contact the security guard at the entrance to locate the address.
Please stop fooling around your customers and penalizing them for your poorly constructed business malpractices.
I urge your team to relook and investigate the case and provide a refund.
