[Resolved]  General Motors India — Pathetic Dealer and after sales (Shreyans Talera)

I don't know if this is the right place to write my experience with General Motors so far. But Here I go.

GM, you should take this seriously. Because lots more like this is going to float over the internet for this dealer.

I really do not want to point the finger to GM but I would like to get their attention to their dealers and the after sales service provided by them. (After sales, if any)

This is about my bad experience about the dealer here in Pune, Shreyans Talera.
I got delivery of my vehicle (Chevrolet Aveo) in May 2008. And the problems started even before the delivery of the vehicle. I would discuss that as well but later in this post.

Yesterday, I handout my vehicle to them for first free service. Wait, The showroom is only 7km away from my home but the service center is 28km. I called them and the lady said that I need to drop the vehicle at the service center or they will pick up the vehicle from my place. I really do not believe on the driving skills of their drivers as I've seen a guy yelling on them when he saw scratches on his new car on very first day of delivery

So, I took the vehicle to my office from where there service center is only 5 km. So after calling 2 times to the service center even after appointment taken in one day advance, the driver came at 11.15 AM to my office to pick the vehicle, he inspected the car for any previous scratches. Luckly (not any more) thanks to my careful driving and personal maintainace I didn't have a single scratch. Though he found one hairline on the bonnet and marked it in his sheeet. I was ok with it.

Now the story started. When I got the delivery of my new vehicle, I noticed after a week that my car's right side indicator is loose and filled in with water. I took the car to the dealer and they said it's a manufacturing defect and will be rectified in first service. So, I asked the driver to make a note of this and he flee off takin my vehicle.

Now at 1.30 PM, I got call from their supervisor and he said that side indicator cannot be replaced free. I was like, fish. I have the COO (Cashless owernship offer) and it was the manufacturing defect. Do they mean that I played with the indicator and pour water on it. Am I freak? I asked him to talk to his Manager even the dealer and get back to me. He said he will call me in 15 mins. He didn't turned up so I called them again at 4 PM and the lady said "Sir, the supervisor will call you in 1 hour and the vehicle will be delivered in 1 hours time". I was waiting for their call till 5.45 PM. Ohh, did I mentioned that work hours end at 5 PM? Anyway, I called them again at 5.55PM and the lady got the supervisor on call and he said that he will call me in 15 mins. I was waiting for their call till 6.30 PM and I realised that these guys are making a fool out of me. I took my office cab and started towards their service station.

On the way I was trying to call them and no one was picking up the phone. I reached their around 6.50. And to my surprise the service center was closed. There was only person left. My car was right there, I asked him about the status and he said the showroom closed at 6 PM. (Just 5 mins after the guy said he will call me in 15 mins.) Obviosly, I blasted. So he called up the supervisor and he was there only wondering somethere. and he had NO explanation to anything. He said there was a lot of LOAD. Which no one told me entire day. No one turned up with the status of the vehicle even though I called.

The supervisor said, your indicator cannot be replaced free, as the store manager refused it.. you take the vehicle and we will do it in next servicing. (This is the second time I got this answer, first time I got it while first 1000 km service). I asked why he did not informed me in the afternoon. No answer. Why you didn't call me when you said you will call me in 15 mins. No answer. How should I go home without the vehicle from this freaking isolated place. No answer.

By god's grace, their Manager dropped in at the service center, who is incharge on that service center.
I should say, the person was nice and polite. He assured me that the indicator will be replaced under warranty as it's General Motor standard. GM is known for its quality car and all. He said his service van will come to my place in the morning and will replace the indicator.

The supervisor handed me over the job sheet and again to my surprise it was on some other's name with my Car number on it. The manager asked him to change and he didn't know how to do it. So the manager told me that he will send the corrected bill in the morning with the service guy. I took the car and came home.

How many mistakes and ignorance so far? Keep counting.

I just woke up this morning and went down to see if the work is carried out as per my expectation. And what I saw, a preety scratchy vehicle. Few visible scratches near front wheel, side doors. I know they are not going to accept it and I would need to live with them. I cannot explain them how good I care for the vehicle. Since past 5 months with 4400km not a single scratch on vehicle. And with just a distance of 5-6 km. 3-4 visible scratches. Now you know, why I said that the driver flee away taking my car.

I am preety much disappointed looking at my car. The car is not cleaned properly, its still dirty inside.
I really feel like going to the service station and shooting like every guy who touched my car. After all it's my hard earned money, carelessly handled by some crazy people.

GM, what should I do? Can you see my frustration? I am so restless after looking at my car in the morning. I started typing out this post out of frstration.

If you do not take my concern seriously, I want to assure you that I would NEVER ever recommend anyone a GM car. Even though you make great cars, they are difficult to maintain with such dealers.

I regret today at my decision, I should have gone for Honda City or Verna but ...

Now what I'm gonna do? I am gonna wait for the guys to come and change the indicator with the correct documentation. Till that time, I am gonna get my WAX polish and will try to clean up the mess they have created.

I agree. GM cars are good but their dealers wear an attitude that says, " may be GM manufactures the cars but we are the ones that decide what you get". I had a similar situation with GM's dealer in Pondicherry, Aakash Automobiles (Pvt.) Ltd. But their Service unit 'seems' to make up for the sales division's shortcomings. -JCPR

general motors — Bad sales team

Gm sales or more specifically Ashtvinayak sales located at goregaon , mumbai....has made it a point to lie to their customers regarding everything.
I had booked a Chevy cruze, black automatic on the 12 th of july, with the delivery being promised in 25 days. today is the 31st of august and there is no sign of my car. everytime i call up the sales girl , she is being trained to tell "Its being built sir". not only her, the sales Team lead Gave me even more convincing lie. I fell for it two times. I obviously won`t know how this thing works.
The third time i called....i got the same patented reply. this time i blew my top. Apparently a few cuss words and the threat of the media....jolts these jokers in to action. I still don`t have a confirmed date, but the ASM of the dealer has promised me with a date, which for his sake i hope comes out to be true.
Please do not take the word of the sales team as holy ...get on to the asm`s back and get a confirmation out of him.
If the american company thinks, it can take us for granted, it has another thing coming.
i have booked my car from india automobiles, at kolkata, India one months ago, but i didnot got delivery till date.sales man are not entertaining at all & not even talking.When I called them they are avoiding & rudly behaving.Thanks to GM .PH-[protected]
GM offers the worst customer service. I got my vehicle serviced multiple times at Orange and Kun (Hyd) and every time I had to go twice. And some of the smaller complaints like Window glass not rolling up quickly... Even after 5-6 times, they didn't resolve it. Oh yeah, but they are very prompt in extracting the service charges. Also, it's not of ANY use complaining to GM (through their complaint #[protected].

GM clearly doesn't seem to be interested in doing business in India. I know at least 30 people who heard so many complaints and then chose not to buy GM cars.

I have bought a chevy captiva at jayaraj karz. The delivery was late but i thought that this was to be expected( hey lets face it this is India ). I got the car okay and there were no problems. Then i left it for the first the service came back alright with no problems, BUT the second time it went for service(10, 000 km service) the car came back with HORRIBLE SCRATCHES and THE PAINT HAD BEEN PEELED OFF by the the guy who polished it i was really ANGRY. I'm thinking hey are this guys professionals or just dome road side service men.Then i phoned to the service guy and he told that they would fix it tomorrow again i sent it for service and the scratches were POORLY COVERED up as if someone had painted it with a brush. It was painted with dust underneath and the scratches weren't even taken care off. they were just painted over. Then when i saw the car the next morning there was a difference in the paint the place they had painted over was different i could just peel the paint off with my fingers. I am really frustrated and feel like tearing my hair off. I am going to the service center tomorrow ( all these days the driver was going). I STRONGLY RECOMMEND ANYONE AGAINST BUYING A CHEVY IN INDIA. Maybe you can buy it in other countries but not in INDIA
Dear Sir/mam, On 15 of jan we got a beat p.s for 3.73500 but unfortunatly da tyre got burst immidetly i spoke to the seles person mr.chaman lal of metro chev. i spoke to his boss mr. sanjay, mr amit tiwari, mr.kalsi mr.manmaohan singh gill finlaly i complaint on ur call center i just want to know about da tyre what to do shell i fix solid iron tyre or chang delhi, s road on my cost so my tyre doesnot get burst this somthing very bad its my hard mony and u people r not even talkin to costumer properly kindly replaise my tyre, thanks
Dear Sir, I had purchased my Spark LS on 26/12/2010 with the 3 years warranty package (CPCO). But in the month of marh 2011 I came to realised that My CPCO is not done. At this dealer (Analysis Motors, Halwani, uttrakhand) promised to refund me of Rs. 10, 000 (Cost of the scheme which i had already paid). So far many a times i have called him and even went to his showroom but he has not refunded me till date 07/04/11. He harrassed me a lot. I am fed up with this dealer and even GM . How can i recommed GM to any of my friend or colleage or some known person.
The image of GM is getting deteriorated by such acts of dealers. This is the worst experience of my life.

G M MOTORS INDIA — change of vehicle's battery

dear sir,

i own a chevrolet beat(vehicle's number GJ - 5 - CN - 1239). i bought it from the city dealer - empire motors(surat). i am being harassed by the company members as they have changed my car's battery during the service of the vehicle and now they are not giving any response on complaining. they misbehave and speak vulgar and insulting words. i have enough evidences to prove their theft. i want you to take strict steps towards the wrong deed done by the company members. i hope you do the necessary or i will have to throw a case on the empire motors. in help of making a better india.

I own a Chevrolet Beat LT frm Navi Mumbai ([protected]/[protected]/[protected]) address : C81 Nile Godrej Hills Birla College rd, Kalyan (West). The care i bought from Nikhil Automobile located at Navi Mumbai (KoparKhairne). I bought it on 18th January 2011. Its is not more than 6 months the car has started leaking. Its rainy season and now the car has started leaking and the water is getting stored all over. Rear Seats are wet and the But where the spare tyre is stored is full of water. Base of the car is full of water as there is permanent carpet over there. The car is showing malfunctioning signal . all this problems are coming up in just no time. the most [censored] irritating disgusting service centers in da town are with genral motors i own a optra magnum having reg num ap10al5678 i gave for servicin in orange auto sanath nager it is a 65000 pid service nd i told the adviser to chek wether the engen parts like belts and pullys are working good or nt neglecting ma requst he gave da car bak to me after 10 days with only the genral sevicing done witin 1 mnth i got problem with the tensoner nd i took it bak to the service station nd told to check the car properly my work is done i took da car back in these two times the car engine was in very good condition after 15 days the third time i found oil leakage from the turbo so i took it agin to da same place dis time i found the shoking news dat my car had an engine failure i couldnt belive dat G.M vehicle has a engine faiulure by 68000 kms and i took it to kun chevolet and i found that my engine condition was very good and no need for engine replacement i was very happy dat my problem got rectified in 750 rs by cleaning turbo pipes where orange auto son of da biches quoted me 400000 (four laks rs) rs wen i ask dem they refused to answer my question so plse take care while giving the dealerships the pride of general motors wil be spoiled by such basteds

GM India is pathetic & ever worst car franchise in India i have ever seen, i still abuse myself why i opted the Chevrolet product with worth of zero service, all are thieves & conman in nature, i have made complaint regarding meisbehaviour & non providance of service on 23rd Feb 2012, but amazed to know nobody even bother to reply or call me, i have sent around 17 reminder, but they act like that i am fool do what you want to do

Please help me, i had bought the Chevrolet Beat TCDI on 8th Feb 2012, From RSA Motors, Industrial Area, , at the time of sale, dealer made me sure that there is service centre in mathura & also shown me in the booklet that there is service centre in Mathura, even its written in Service Booklet“Kalyan Auto Service & sales/Mathura”

Buton contacting the above said agency, Mr.Deepak Tiwary(Manager of showroom) & other staff personnel totally denied for any service & asked me to get this Done from Agra, & also misbehaved with me .On contacting with Chevrolet Customer care, no response found, as chasing more than 6 days, mails attached for your reference



Nowquestion is

1.Whois responsible for servicing of car ?
2.WhyMathura mentioned as Service centre?
3.Whywrong commitment made at time of purchase ?
4.Whatkind of tone you learnt to your managers to talk to customer, especially incase of lady ?

I had given my car for servicing at Frontline Automobiles, mysore road- optra magnum
( Car no KA 05 MF 1641) ..and the AC was working fine and after i
received the car after servicing the ac was not functioning...
I have called Mahesh( your guy) and told him about the matter.Mahesh
didnt even respond after the issue was brought ot his notice..he said
the madam will call and the madam didnt call as of today...

The reason it was not working was the wire was disconnected hence the
compressor ws not working...hope folks do a proper job when the car is
given for servicing...It is high time customer is taken care for Chevy
cars...its become real difficult to get proper service done for chevy
cars.

I have learnt the lesson now...will take care in future
I wish to convey that now a days there is only one show room/service center at Gurgaon, Haryana. People are not happy with the performance of existing services because it is overloaded. Now a days popularity of General Motors has gone up but in case of such services, you may loose new customers/new business.

Pl look into it seriously and introduce one/two more service centers.

I m doing the job with GM last 1 year, and i am not satisfied with my job because they have no any facility for the employee or really GM motors dealerships is not good, My thinking is that when the employee is not satisfied, How can u satisfied your customers,
Deedi Automobiles Trivandrum Kerala is now well known for cheating its customers. Now it seems that it is their policy to cheat the customers thinking That if one customer go another will fall in as their prey. I am writing this in frustration that i have already booked a Cruze AT vehicle from them. At the time of booking they did not have a demo vehicle for a test drive. They gave me a test drive in a manual vehicle. Then the guy offered me a test drive in Automatic vehicle saying he will bring a vehicle but not a demo car. I was wondering how is this possible?. To my surprise he brought a vehicle and i took a test drive. While driving i asked him how he has managed to bring the car. He said this vehicle is booked by another customer and delivery is due next week, so until then we will give test drive.I asked him what will happen if the customer come to know about this, The guy who is the sales lead said with a grin, "The customers come today will not be seen tomorrow so we don't care"
What an attitude and what a foolish way to deal with a new customer!

Then the guy told me book the vehicle at the earliest because GM is going to hike the price in 2 days. Later i came to know, Actually there was 1 week time for the hike. But I made the booking by paying Rs 50000. At that time there was 1 vehicle in the showroom and one at their yard. He said the one at showroom is sold and the other vehicle can be given to me. On close inspection i i found that the vehicle is kept in an open space and is having rusted wheels. It was lying there since 2 months and is dirty and the odometer was showing 43 kilometers. So I decided not to take this one but noticed the engine number in my iphone. The guy didn't notice this. He said new vehicle will come after 3 days. I came back home and after 3 days he called me and said your vehicle is arriving at 3 o clock today. I reached the showroom at around 4 to see my vehicle. Den i checked the odometer and found 52 km. Den i asked him to show me the engine number. It was the same vehicle i saw 3 days back.
I said do not try to cheat me and i am not going to buy this vehicle. But the guy was continuously trying to make me believe that it is a new vehicle. "What an "
Now i insisted for new vehicle again and waiting for it. I am really frustrated and thinking of cancellation of my booking because i am not able to trust them for such a deal. These will try to cheat me in every way possible. And if i buy the vehicle i will have to depend on them for after sale too.

i wish to share my experience regards to warranty GM's dealer provides. we bought Spark 3 years ago from Gandhidham Dealer. 2nd year we had to replace some bushes etc and had to Pay Indian Rupees 4500.00.
then we noticed AC was not cooling properly so i took to service center in Bhuj since we are from bhuj. they said its too hot so that may be the reason. then again i took to them after 15 days or so. they said you have to refill the gas which is not part of warranty. even after refilling AC was not okay and we overlooked. now when we went for last service they said AC has major issue and you need to get it done and pay separately. when we demanded to be covered under warranty they did not. i got it done through 3rd party and costed me 11000.00.

I DO NOT THINK GENERAL MOTORS IS LOOKING INTO CUSTOMER'S COMPLAINT SERIOUSLY.

even after writing to General Motors Customer Care they forwarded the inquiry to their dealer which is not competent. who has not provided professional service and just taken us round.

Image these many problems and vehicle is JUST Driven 10000 KM in 3 Years.
i am having one chevrolet beat diesel car (no-WB 06J 5612 ) in the name of my wife Dr Suparna Ghosh.I went to Speed Chevrolet ( UNIT OF Speed Autotech Pvt Ltd) at 241/2B A.P.C.Road.Kolkata-700004 for my paid service on 31.03.13.After finishing the job i was asked to check the car by Service Advisor Tapan Samal .i saw washing was not proper as floor of inside was not cleaned properly.There was water below foot mats as foot mats were not wiped properly.Naturally i became angry & shouted the mechanic.At that time this fellow Tapan Samal shouted me & was going to hit me.I felt insulted & i did not expect such behaviour.When i was going to pay at cash counter this same fellow Tapan Samal told me to sign the feedback form without filling it up. I am very much surprised how dare this fellow was going to hit me Hereby i am complaining so that you can take necessary action against this fellow.Also i request you to look after your after sales service from this authorised service centre.
