Dear Sir/Madam,

I would like to bring into your kind gesture that I book my e-ticket (Train no.4005, ticket cost, Rs. 776/-, from Varanasi Jn- NDLS) to travel on 11th April'10. but I could not as the train was late for indefinite period of time (till 1.30 am I was on the platform but it did not reach) so ultimately I had to catch another train.
on 16th April'10 I filied the TDR for Refund & after exhastive correspondences I could get only 50% refund (Rs. 388/- only) on 17th August'10, while as per rules of Indian Railways (reflecting on the Website) if the train is delayed for more than 3 hrs. then the passenger is eligible to get a refund of 100% of the ticket cost (in my case it should have been Rs. 776 in stead of Rs. 388/-). After getting 50% refund again I represented the case & till now no action could take place.
My concern is; if the rules are so clearly spelled out then why there is inordinate delay and the refund amount is not as per the rules. in spite of several requests my concern could not be properly addressed.
therefore I would take liberty to request you to kindly look into the matter to expedite the process to save our energy, time and mistrust on the system.
I am sure this is the right form to share our problems and to get viable solutions.

To whomsoever it may concern


I wish to bring into your kind concern that I booked my E-ticket to travel from Varanasi (BSB) to New Delhi (NDLS) for 11th April ’10 (Ticket appended). But unfortunately the train was delayed for indefinite period of time. So ultimately I took another ticket for Garib Rath as I was told on the reservation counter that it’s departure is at 7.30 pm. Regarding cancellation, I was told, as mentioned in the E-ticket, that it can only be done through website. Unfortunately the second train (Garib Rath) also started after six hours from the scheduled departure time and I reached home in the evening of 12th April’10 and due to unusual delay I could not reach to my workplace.
On 13th April’10 when I tried to cancel the ticket it could not be done by giving reason that chart was prepared. But it is illogical as it is very obvious that when I did not change my journey plan & I had to come back by the same train then obviously I would not cancel the ticket. Since the train was delayed and till 2.00 am (till I was on the Railway Platform) it did not arrive then what was the option left for me, who was carrying E-Ticket.
Therefore I would request you to kindly look into the matter & reimburse the total ticket as mental agony and inconvenience cannot be compensated.

Dear Customer, Sorry for the inconvenience.Kindly note that your refund case of PNR No.[protected] has been forwarded to CCM/NR Railway on 27-Aug-2010 .We have already issued Reminders on 17-Jul-2010 to concerned railway to chase up the case.But despite reminders refund is yet to be received from the concerned railway.Now we have sent another reminder on 4-October-2010 with all the papers pertaining to your refund case to concerned railway to chase up the cases. As soon as refund, if any, received it will be credited to your card account.

M/S Indian Railways Catering — Request for refund of process charge as the ticket was not issued.

Dear Sir,

In reference to my earlier letter dated the 10th Oct'08 regarding trnsaction made on my credit Card No. [protected] at Indian Railways Catering for Rs.1606.32 on 13.09.08, I would like to draw your kind attention that the IRTC had communicated me through e-mail that the ticket could not be processed due to some technical difficulties. So, I made a complain with the ICICI credit Card Department for debiting my account against that ticket for an amount of Rs.1606.32. Consequently your Deptt. had credited the disputed amount which had been reflected also in the next statement. But unfortunately in the last statement dated the 29 Dec'08 once again the same amount of Rs.1606.32 has been credited to my account under the heading Charge back debit.

Under the circumstances stated above may I ask you, why the amount has been credited inspite of the fact that the ticket
could not be processed and delivered to me?

I shall be highly obliged if you would look into the matter and do the needful by reversing the credited amount.

Our train from Howrah to Ahmedabad was cancelled due to some unclear reasons and we were told by IRCTC that the entire amount of ticket will be refunded back within 90 days which in itself was too much of a time for processing refund. It has been over 4.50 months and the refund is still not processed, I have sent several emails to IRCTC and called a few times and they say it's in process but have not refunded it as yet and are unable to give exact time.

I have filed one TDR for one journey on 22ed june 2009. Still i didn't get any refund (nearly 3 months completed). Date of journey on 22ed june 2009, PNR No.[protected] &[protected], Train No. 3245 & 9322 and Form Patna to Indore.
my T.D.R. NO. is 426009 . i have send original tickets, original T.D.R. form, zerox of supplimentary tickets of that journey on 03ed july 2009.
I had so many times discussions with IRCTC cusomer care and TDR department and indore customer Care . I have sent more than one remainder mails to IRCTC ([protected]@irctc.co.in) and western railway department.
Please take up this complaint. and refund of my T.D.R. amount as soon as possible.
