[Resolved]  IRCTC Food Catering — IRCTC FOOD in Trains WORST

Hello,
I am Travelling from Chennai to New-Delhi, I am submitting this reply while in train AC2 Coach # A3, after having my RUBBISH FOOD Supplied by IRCTC catering Staff. Today is[protected] @ 10:07 PM IST. My PNR # [protected] Train # 2615, GT Express.

Since yesterday ie. 3rd June 2008 Tuesday, when I boarded this train from Chennai Central at 7 PM, IRCTC Staff came at 8 PM and took an order for Dinner and when I asked him what is available he said only Veg. Biryani. I was left with NO option and I asked him to bring one, when he brought it, I took one spoon and it was Rubbish, I could not eat even one spoon of rice and curd was also sour and stinking. I had NO option than to throw that veg. rice biryani (as it is named) in the Drain. I made a complaint to the staff who brought it, he said what can I do? This Packets came from Station and we are NOT Cooking it inside the train, we don't have any control over it.

Sensing that, he is a poor staff I paid him for the Dinner Packet which I had thrown in the Drain.

Now Today Evening again he brought the Dinner and the ROTI was BURNed, Curd was Sour like yesterday NO Improvement at all. I asked him he said I can't do any thing this Dinner we have received from ITARSI JN.

When Contacted Mr. Sanjeev Srivastava, Catering Manager in ths train. Despite my several calls he didn't come with the complaint book.

The Catering is been done by: M/s. R K Associates.

IRCTC is Providing WORST/RUBISH Food to its Travellers.
There is NO Link on www.IRCTC.co.in for Complaints regarding Catering / Supplies in Running Trains.
IRCTC has Mordenised in just Booking eTickets, Putting Google ADs and Earning Revenues from that but NOT Providing Good FOOD & WATER to its Travellers.

In these Long Distance Trains in which I am travelling from Chennai to New-Delhi takes more than 36hrs. and NO place to EAT any thing in Train, It seems IRCTC wants its Travellers should be on FAST while Travelling on their Trains.

I APPEAL to the Honourable HIGH COURT, they should NOT ACCEPT the Letter from IRCTC that they have improved their FOOD, just by giving MONEY & Contract to IMRB they have managed to get the Certificate.

Can any one SUGGEST, where can I File an Official Complaint against IRCTC Catering Department Head, it seems they are EARNING TONS of Money as BRIBE from these Catering Contractors due to which General Public travelling in these Long Distance Trains have to FACE the Difficulty of travelling without eating on 36hrs. jounery.

Some thing should be done in this regard URGENTLY.

I would again say that even a dog cannot consume this type of stale Food.

Better pay heed to my complaint, or else I be forced to go ahead.
Regards!

IRCTC — cost of food is very high as compared to quality

Hello sir, I did travel in tamilnaddu exp. from new delhi to chennai, the quilty of food is very bad they give only two small chappti and some rice at the cost of 35/- rs and cost of two extra chaptti is 11/- rs which is i think is very high as compair to market I think the total cost of food is 15/- rs and if add there profit them it should cost 20/- but they charge 35/- rs for that which is i think is too much

Indian Railway catering service — Petty shop selling of drinks is too high

I have travelled from Erode to Trichy on 08.04.2009 by Plakat Past Pss. at 11.00 am in plat form no.3 at erode ( My Ticket No.[protected]. While at the movement of train I have purchsed mirranta (Drink) from IRCTC stall at Erode 3rd platform. Actual price of the drink is Rs.20/= but irctc staff has sold the dring Rs.30/=. In this regard, I am not able to complaint at Erode, since trains is moving. So, I have made the complaint at Trichy Railway Dy.station Master Mr.Kumar. He has not taken the complaint and asked to give mail to irictc complaint. Management has to equire and refund Rs.10/=
I agree. Railway food is just one rung lower than airline food, which is also mostly crap. The railways and IRCTC think that people travel only occasionally, so they can be forced to consume below mediocre food and beverages as they are captive customers during the journey.
Never buy food such type of trains, bring cookies / any homemade dish i.e. MATHRI etc with you or just use bread butter / seasonal fruit. IN OUR COUNTRY NO ONE CAN TAKE ACTION AGAINST SUCH TYPE OF AUTHORITIES.

I totally agree with this.Due to some persons in IRCTC department the whole department may face the problem. government should interfere in this and throw out those people who are responsible for this type of cause. For example the CRM of IRCTC LUCKNOW, Mr tripathi is tooking bribe openly. He has given permission to m/s sweeta sales, lucknow to supply Bibo package drinking water which is a third class water to IRCTC AND STALLS AT RAILWAY PLATFORMS in east U.P stations. The other quality package drinking water are not allowed to be sold in rly stations. Mr tripathi is tooking undertable rs 50000/month from sweeta sales, lko.
all the charges made by you are absolutely correct and i advise to write to crb railway board, railway minister and if they do not reply lodge an pil in any high or supreme court.

Food — dinner supplies

I was travelling today on 8nov2009 in jhelum express in coach S-7. in which the dinner supplied was of worst quality and in very less quantity I was charged Rs. 60 for a paneer ,dal ,rice and only 3 rotis. I think this is worst quality of food till date Do look towards it.
The food at train was very worst even a dog will not eat that that type of food was given when i traveled on navajeevan exp from ahmedabad to chennai on 22nd NOV-2009 PNR NO-[protected].
Normally a 250ml of sealed pack of water will be served with meal was not given when i asked the supplier he was taking vrery roughly. This type of incidents give very very very bad impressions on IRCTC. I dont know IRCTC for us or we for IRCTC?
I also agree with the contents above. Really IRCTC is not bothered about the quality and quantity of food items suplied by their vendors. Recently, I travelled from Jabalpur to Chennai Egmore by train No. 2389. I also got rubish meals from the pantry car vendors.Yes, I can't say that the curd was sour because they have not served curd/sweet & drinking water. When I asked for curd and drinking water, the vendor told me that curd has not been suplied to them by the contractor and adviced me to purchase a water bottle from the pantry car. The vendors in most of the trains & railway platforms always use small cups (150 ml) for tea & coffee where as it should be of 170 ml as prescribed by IRCTC itself. The vendor charged from me Rs. 6/- for coffee and Rs.5/- for tea contains maximum of 110 ml, where as the rates decleared by the IRCTC is Rs.4/- for a cup of tea of 150 ml & the cups should be of 170 ml size. On my return journey by Train No. 2295 also I have faced the same problems. I have already registered a complaint with IRCTC.in this subject. If IRCTC is serious about customer's satisfaction, they should organise surprise checking in trains and Rly platforms.
3days ago {sender Aruna kamra}

sir, I along with my family was travelling by rajdhani express to jammu after so many years I cannot believe this type of food will be served which i will not give to my maids or pets The soup stick was actually for dogs and the food was so worse including roomali rotis which were nonchewable and without any option left for the senior citizens and the kids.sorry to say please give such type of food to your your parents and children before serving to us in future or strict action will be taken against you and my money to be refunded or taste the food your self .I am very serious about this as no action is being taken against you people. It is much better to travel by shatabdi express onlyand please dont treat us like animals.
Yes! I agree with above complain. I was traveling in Purshottam express (2802). I found glass pieces in food. I informed the catering in charge. But no action has been taken.
Satya Tapas
I travelled from nagpur to hyderabad in AP express several times, i found that they dont serve South indian Dishes. Being a vegetarian, it is very difficult to take food as food use to brought with Chilli chicken . The Pnatry is so un hygenic. The staff is from Bihar and eastern UP, they take Khaini and spit in Pantry car.
IRCTc is meant for India and not for Bihar or Eastern UP. Each railway divisions should have the regional staff and regional Food.
the high court should interfere
The vendors in most of the trains & railway platforms always use small cups (150 ml) for tea & coffee where as it should be of 170 ml as prescribed by IRCTC itself. The vendor charged from me Rs. 7/- for coffee and Rs.5/- for tea contains maximum of 110 ml, where as the rates decleared by the IRCTC is Rs.4/- for a cup of tea of 150 ml & the cups should be of 170 ml size.If IRCTC is serious about customer's satisfaction, they should organise surprise checking in trains and Rly platforms.

IRCTC is Providing WORST/RUBISH Food to its Travellers. IRCTC SUCKS
Hi
I have read most of your complaints given by you, As an old contractor of IRCTC i would like to bring to your notice about few facts that are leading the vendors to sell food and other PAD items over and above MRP, Selling food above MRP is an offence as per the law and it is nothing but cheating people.Even after knowing all this we are forced to sell food above MRP to protect our self from incomming losses. Please find the below attached facts and figures which most of you dosent know are happening to the contractors on reular basis.
1.All catering contracts are given on tender basis, a person interested in the tender has to bid at the maximum which may be equal to Break Even figure of his bussiness estimations.
2.Normally the profits are very low when compared to out side market because the supplier(Company) has to pay loyalty to IRCTC for getting their permission to sell their brand in stations.Hence the comapny cut down the discounts from the part of the vendor and give them the railways. One way we are forced to buy only brands approve by IRCTC.
3.A contractor has to pay more than 30% of his sale to IRCTC in the for of License fee every month.
4.Vendor has to supply food and water to all railway officials who come to the stations.
5.Too many stalls on the plat forms leads to lower business volumes and so the business overheads are very high.
6.Minimum interest shown by IRCTC to solve vendor problems so as to control the flaws happening to the Passengers.Because the only solution to improve the quality and services is to reduce Licence fee and take responsibility for the profits of Vendors, (We only look for about 8% of profits on the total sales turn over hence if IRCTC reduces their licence fee by 20% we can pass on the same to the passengers in the form of quality and services.

Hope you understand our struggle.

Regards.

IRCTC — improper fooding

I was served with very bad food on Shatbdi Express. My complaint no. is G156/2/1572. I haven't got any reply from IRCTC.
hi i agree with all yours view. i m a doctor. i used to go delhi frequently for exams and interviews. almost every food items and drink exceed m.r.p. in delhi railway station. same thing seen in itarsi rly station, where one 500 ml pepsi cost to me for rupee 30 of m.r.p. 23 Rs. i think catering contractors are charging huge license fee of irctc imposed to them from passengers.
