[Resolved]  NEXT Electronics — luring and trapping a customer on false information by the shopkeeper

Address:Bangalore, Karnataka

This is with respect to luring and trapping a customer on false information by the shopkeeper.
I wanted to buy a laptop during Diwali Season. I was looking to buy the product in EMIs as I did not want to spend the whole Rs. 49000 at one shot. I wanted to buy DELL Inspiron 15 Inch, Intel Core i5, 4GB RAM. Some did not have the product or some were having huge EMI interest or some were having huge processing fee. At last, I zeroed in NEXT Electronics which is situated at “Site No. 914, Sri Venkateshwara Complex, 80Ft Road, Kormangala Opp. Ibp Petrol Bump, Bangalore - 560 095”.
There was only one piece and at that time I had not brought my Credit Card. They told me that to purchase it as soon as possible as it will go out of stock. Then I specifically asked them whether they is any offer with respect to EMI facility on Citibank Credit Card. They showed me one piece of paper which was stating that THERE IS NO PROCESSING FEE AND NO EMI INTEREST IF I PAY BY CITIBANK CREDIT CARD. I CAN PAY THE AMOUNT MONTHLY IN 6 EQUAL INSTALLMENTS. So I went home. From home again, I called them to confirm that if I pay by Citibank Credit Card there will be no EMI Interest, no processing fee and I can pay in 6 equal monthly instalments. I took the Credit Card to the shop, made the purchase. The charge slip also indicated “INSTANT EMI SALE – 6 MONTHS”.
Charge Slip details are as follows:
1. Approval Code was 202130.
2. MID 50293388
3. TID 25420229
4. Date 24/10/10 Time 16:08:59
Bill No. 17960. VAT No. [protected]. Product Code Number is [protected]. Service Tax No. AABCE3142PST001. Bill Amount Rs 48,600.00
But when my Citibank Statement came, I was shocked to see that I had to pay full amount of Rs. 48600 in one shot itself and not in 6 instalments. I called the shop, they told me to come to their shop. I went there with Bill and Charge Slip. They made me sit there for 3 hrs while they tried to process my complaint. They told me that they had swiped my card In ICICI machine that is why INSTANT EMI SALE with Citibank did not work. They also tried to defend themselves that it was fault of Citibank’s employee who did not tell them. Then they tried contacting Citibank officials and then they told me that I can convert to 6 instalments if I pay Rs. 1000. I told them that I am ready but Rs. 1000 has to be borne by shop or Citibank. They agreed. But till now nothing has happened. I have called them thrice, argued with them. Every time they will just tell me that it will take 5 more days and stuff. I even told that I will make consumer complaint. Just to avoid that, they just told me they are trying and were asking for few more days. They took my mobile number and name thrice stating that they will call back and they have not done anything. When I mailed Citibank about this incident, they shamelessly told me that they will charge 24% interest if I want to convert to EMI and they cannot do anything else.
This is atrocious both at the part of shop and Citibank. They just want to loot the customer. (By the way, Citibank is also creating lot of problem for me like bouncing off my post dated cheques etc but that is a different issue and a different discussion topic).
In the meantime, I somehow managed to pay Citibank Credit Card amount. But I am in debt now. I have to ask my father for Rs. 30000 loan. He had to break his fixed deposit amount and do it. Now, it is getting very very difficult for me to arrange my finances because of duping of NEXT Electronics, Koramangala, Bangalore.
PLEASE DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM NEXT ELECTRONICS AS THEY ARE THE CHEATERS AND THEY WILL LIE TO YOU TO MAKE YOU BUY THE PRODUCT.

" I was shocked to see that I had to pay full amount of Rs. 48600 in one shot itself "
This amount gets deducted but does not show up as your oustanding.
Even if it does interest is not charged over this amount until you pay EMI's.

Log into Citibank online and convert it yourself buddy . Why do you want to rely on others.
