Standard Chartered Bank — Worse than a Government Organisation

Dear All,
I had applied for a business loan almost 4 months ago, the processing has already been realized by the bank. They yet haven't been able to disburse the loan even though all papers have been given to them. They have already taken my property papers, got it mortgaged in their name and still haven't given the money. Since the loan was required for Diwali, they have already given so many false committments and f *@!ed by festival, I would not recommend that anyone should ever apply for a loan to this bank. Personal recommendation, go to a loan shark, pay them 2 per month interest rate but get your work done. Government should ban such banks in India and I would personally send this complaint in writing to the Banking Ombudsman for their intervention.
Sincere request to all, DO NOT DEAL WITH STANDARD CHARTERED BANK. Worst bank to deal with.

Standard Chartered Bank — EMI issue

Dear all,
Can anyone tell me how to deal with this?
I had taken standard chartered personal loan. Bank had, whiel giving loan, waved (reduced) one EMI. Instaed of 32, I had to pay only 31 EMIs ( every month I pay 8K as EMI).
I have successfully about to complete the loan with 31 EMIs. But, due to some stupid transaction by me one of the EMI went default long bank. To my dissappointment, now I came to know from one of the StanChart customer care executive that my total number of EMIs are not 31 but 32. Thats because one of the EMI went default. As far as my knowledge bank has to apply fine for cheque bounce, not to take one extra EMI. Can someone please tell me how to deal with this?

Thanking you in advance,
Nagaraj Mali

Standard Chartered Bank — unnecessary charges

Hi,
I have a complaint regarding the payment made to the bank but not reflected in statement.
I received my statement for the month of january . i made the payment through cheque of state bank of india , tagore garden branch new delhi. when i received the statement for the next month i.e february i found that the amount what i have paid in last month is not credited to the statement. i called to customer care after a long wait executive came on the line and he suggested me to fax the copy of my statement . i did that , then i checked with the customer care they said that they have not received any statement. i told him that it was a page of pass book in which the amount and cheque no is mentioned . he said that fax it again and the same time call the customer care for the confirmation that they have received or not? i did the same and called the customer care , executive put me on hold for more than 30 minutes to check with the concerned department and he told me that since the phone of concerned department is busy so he is unable to check that , but he assured me that he will make an arrangement for call back by the evening but that evening never came back.
Again i received the sms for the next month statement and i found that the amount what i am talking is still reflecting in the statement. i again called up in customer care , this time MsUsha picked up the phone and after long conversation she suggested me to mail the scan copy of the pass book so that she can do the needfull.
I dont know what is happenig on other side . From last few month i am facing this kind of problem like , even after paying on time they are charging the late fine, some way or other they are always trying to find out the way of charging extra to the customer. iam very disappointed with the way customer care staff is dealing with the customer. i hope that after reading this some one at Standard chartered bank will come out to help me and in future i would never like to use the credit card of that bank and even i will suggest my dear friend colleauge and relatives that please do not get indulge with standard chartered bank , because now the bank is not maintaining their reputation

Standard Chartered Bank Credit Cards Department — Undue demand of money even after settlement

Dear Sir/Madam
It’s once again a classic example of how and why Standard Chartered Bank Credit Cards Department is none other than glorified “Pathans”.

It is hard to believe, yet true, that their call centre people are none other than white collared goons, who have the least decency when interacting with customers who have been with the bank for the last 15 years. Until January 2011, I had been paying my monthly dues regularly. However, since I am running through a financially tough spot, I did delay in paying the installment for February 2011. Very promptly I received a call from their goon cell, demanding immediate payment. I received this call on the 23rd of February 2011-you can check it with their ever efficient systems-; and I asked this gentleman as to how much the outstanding amount was till date, as I wanted to clear out the entire amount. He consulted with someone, and told me that I needed to pay Rs.80,000/- in order to clear the entire outstanding till 23rd February 2011. After reconfirming the total amount with him once again, I asked him to send your collection agent to collect the cheque on the same day, which was done too!
However, come March, I am greeted with another statement, indicating I have pay a sum of Rs.3,800/- again! I was shocked and stupefied at this high handed approach from their end. I called up their goon cell once again, but the gentleman there could not shed any light on the matter, He just kept on mumbling that I have to pay this amount after which there will be no outstanding.
I am at loss to understand, as to whom to believe and trust; the first one, or the second one, because, I feel humiliated by this Bank although being a loyal customer.
Hence I have no choice but to bring this matter up to the consumer redresser forum, and if at all there is someone out there in Standard Chartered Bank who values customers, then, I might get justice.
However, there are two things that will happen for sure:-1 ] I am differing from paying this extortion amount, 2 ] Standard Chartered Bank will loose some more of those very few loyal customers that it has.
So be it.

Standard Chartered Bank London — Fund Transfer Issue

Hi,

This is Nirma Devraj updating this complaint for your notice that I was recieved a mail and sms from the T-Mobile Department stating that I have won a Fund amount of 5.00.000.00GBP in the Lottery Scam. As per the company requirements I have forwarded all the documents they asked.and I paid 540 GBP for obtaining the FRO Certificate for the Fund transfer. I was forwarded all the required documents for the bank also for the fund release exept FRO certificate.Mr. Edward Right [Director of Remittance] of Foreign Remittance Department,Standard Chartered Bank London,104 London Road GB - Liverpool l3 5nl (Tel: +[protected]Fax: +[protected] was informed me through mail that once the Bank recieve the FRO certificate within 72 hrs the fund amount will be transfered to my personal Bank account in India without any delay and further procedure . But when I obtained the FRO certificate after paying 540GBP I have forwarded the FRO certificate also to the Bank. After recieving the FRO certificate now the Bank is asking me a huge amount of GBP 2,558.30 cent pounds to get the fund. Why this charges was not mentioned in the required documents and charges list which Bank was send to me . When I have cleared all the procedures to get the fund now Bank is asking this amount. This is a clear case of Cheating. I am a normal BPO Employee. The amount I paid for the FRO certificate ( 540GBP ) itself is a huge amount for me, even though I managed to send it.Now after losing that amount Bank is asking me another huge amount of GBP 2,558.30 cent pounds.
I asked an alternate option to the bank to release the amount withoun this charges before the fund release. After fund release I can pay it if it is mandatory. But Bank is not agrying with it.
I had a faith on the Bank as it is a Well named Bank. But Now I am losing it.If any solution for this please update.
