I am writing to formally complain about the unacceptable treatment I experienced while traveling on Air India Flight AI188 from Delhi to Toronto on February 19. I was traveling with my 7-month-old baby under PNR 6RIVCT, while my husband had a separate PNR 6RJS9Q.
Prior to our journey, my husband received an upgrade offer to First Class via email, which he accepted, assuming that either I or my baby could switch seats with him during the flight. However, upon boarding, your staff informed us that my infant was not allowed in First Class and insisted that she be moved to Economy, separating her from parents.
This decision was not only distressing but also inhumane. At no point during the booking or upgrade process was it communicated that infants are not permitted in First Class. Had we been informed earlier, we would have made different travel arrangements. The way your staff handled the situation suggesting that a 7-month-old baby travel in Economy was completely unacceptable and lacked basic empathy. We were even ready to switch our first class seat with a business class passenger thinking atleast our baby can travel comfortably however Air India staff didn’t even allow to switch seats within ourselves.
I expect Air India to address this issue with the seriousness it deserves and take steps to prevent such incidents in the future.
Sincerely,
Debjani Barman Was this information helpful? |
