[Resolved] Airtel — Airtel is not refunding my money and looking for a cancelled Cheque
I have raised fiber net connection for my home at Ranchi using the Airtel app on the phone by entering the apartment details and contact number. After a few days I had received a call from Vikas Kumar on 15th of April stating he was calling from Airtel Fiber and asked for my home address to check the connection. I had asked him to call after a few days, so he called me again on 20th of April and I had made him the payment for a 3 month plan of 799, so total money I had paid him directly using Phonepe on his mobile number itself . He said that the connection will be installed within 3 days but he is keep saying some server problem initially to register then he said lead id is generated but still come issue at my apartment for installation of wiring and told will take some time but even if I have waited already 2 weeks I do not see any progress and when contacted him WhatsApp, he said he is on leave and come back only on 13th of May 2022 but I asked him for cancellation as I see all these are just some excuses he is making every day, if any connection problem will be there at my home apartment the apartment name only should have not be visible on Airtel app.
I am not sure if this is a regular practice at Airtel to scam the customers by taking the money upfront but not installing the connection on time. Also I would like to escalate on Vikas Kumar as he is not doing his work properly as I had connected with the Broadband customer team today afternoon and they told me that the profile itself is not created but I had already made the payment.
I have requested for refund as installation was not even after 3 weeks, I had shared my bank account details as well to "[protected]@airtel.com" already but still they are not ready to initiate the refund process. Why Airtel cannot refund my money ? When I asked for the refund they are asking me to provide a cancelled cheque without which they are denying to refund but why is that ? What if a person do not have a cheque book? Which banking law says that i need to produce a cheque for refund?
Why Airtel is not refunding the amount to my bank account automatically after providing all the details ? The delay and the poor response from Airtel team is really disappointed and frustrated!

I am marking this issues been resolved after receiving the refund today afternoon ( 12th May 2022). I had shared my bank statement with Airtel while hiding the irrelevant data. Thanks to Airtel team for looking out to this issue on priority after raising my concerns on here as well as on LinkedIn. I hope Airtel will resolve similar issues with other customers as well.
