Airtel — airtel - unnecessary sms charges | |||
Dear sir/Madam I am reaching out to you regarding my mobile services (service provider – Airtel). My mobile number is [protected]. My mother’s number is linked with my number under family plan. Airtel generated the bill for the month of April which was a shock of my life. I received a total bill of around Rs 5, 200 out of which around Rs 3, 800 was charged for SMS at Rs 5 per sms. Airtel is claiming that we sent around 789 smses. I would like to inform you that we have not sent any messages and sending so many messages within few days is impossible. Especially when there are likes of watsapps and other message services. All these charges are levied on my mother’s mobile number when she was in Jammu. She is not very comfortable sending text messages so there is no way she will send 789 odd text messages. I also reached out to airtel multiple times but every time they tell that these are valid charges. I am forwarding one of the emails below. I request you to kindly look into this matter. I have been paying my bills regularly but in this case I have not paid this bill yet. It would be great if you ask Airtel to deeply investigate into the matter and resolve it as soon as possible.
