Airtel — airtel wallet blocked [case:654309] | |||||
A year ago i added some rs 17, 000 to my airtel bank account which i use for paying bills for our airtel post-paid mobile accounts. Recently i started getting an error and the customer service at airtel told me that my account is in 'debit freeze' and asked me to submit proof of id and address proof which i did, now they are asking for aadhar card number which i as a nri cannot get, in fact indian govt has prohibited nris (Foreign citizens) from getting an aadhar card since it subsidizes certain payments for indians. Now airtel, one of the biggest telecom company in india has left me high and dry, basically its daylight robbery if they are going to keep my money as a basis of not having aadhar card, its all a scam since they should have asked for all such id information before opening a bank account, even now the scam continues since they will allow me to deposit money in this account, but will not allow me to use the same for debit transactions such as paying bills that will benefit their own company, my case number is 654309. What are my options? I am considering anything from getting a legal opinion to filing a fir for theft to approaching the media both here in the us and india so as to stop others falling for this scam.
