Airtel — Auto-renewal service | |||||
I have done Airtel 2G recharge of 126 (Mobile : [protected]). But without asking my permission, they have put me on Auto-renewal service. So on Jan 12, I received an sms stating that the service will be renewed. I called 121, and followed the instructions to deactivate 2G mobile internet. Now I didn't receive a confirmation message from Airtel. That is true. But I believed that the deactivation was successful. I didn't know I had to receive some sms for that. On 14 Jan, I got an sms stating the service has renewed and I lost my 126 rs. I called up 121 to complain, and they replied that my deactivation process didn't go through. They said it is my fault that the deactivation sms didn't come. I was not redeemed my money. I was extremely upset. My complaint is about this Auto-renewal process. Few months back I had called 121 to ask them to stop this auto-renewal process for 126 Rs recharge. They said it has been stopped and it did. But I didn't know that the next time I do the recharge, I will be on their auto-renewal process again. This is what happened this time. Either Airtel must ask customers if they want to be included in auto-renewal process or before they deduct the money for the service, they should ask the customers - "Do you want the service?". They have neither in place. It is a shame that a company like Airtel is using schemes like these to exploit common people. Was this information helpful? | |||||
