Airtel — change from postpaid to prepaid is a problem

Hi team,

I believed that airtel is the best network provider in india. I am using airtel# [protected] since 2.5 yrs now. Due to less usage of internet and calls by me, i wished to change this postpaid# to a prepaid plan.

I visited the nearest airtel store in tolichowki, hyderabad for this change request on saturday (10th nov'18). I also paid 560 in total to the store which includes 460 of my last month bill. They promised me that in next 3 days i would lose network, post which i should remove and place the sim again and go for the first time recharge for immediate service.

On monday night (12th nov'18), i received a message that the number will change to prepaid from next day morning 5 am. As per the message, i couldn't make any outgoing calls from that morning.

Called airtel customer care (13th nov) for confirmation on the change to prepaid plan. The agent confirmed me that the said # is now changed to prepaid and i can go for first time recharge, which has to be done in the nearest store.

I visited the airtel store on the way to my work (Am a service person who has work at different places) and asked for the first time recharge. As suggested by the store person, i paid 1100+ for the recharge (1 yr plan o[censored]nlimited calls).

The recharge is not completed. When contacting the store person, he says there is some issue and will check and do the recharge once the issue is fixed. I called the customer care again today (14th nov'18) and now they say the plan is still in postpaid and they don't have any other information and i should wait for 2 complete days from the time it is changed to prepaid.

My issue now are :
1. Airtel store person in tolichowki who said that the day the plan is changed to prepaid, i can go for first recharge and use the service. "this didn't happen"
2. The airtel customer care agent to whom i spoke on nov 13th said that the plan is changed to prepaid. "am not sure whether that is true now"
3. The amount of rs.1100+ is stagnant with the airtel store person which i paid for recharge. "worried when he doesn't take my phone"
4. The airtel customer care agent (Supervisor) to whom i spoke today (14th nov'18) said that the plan is still in postpaid. "am really confused now".

The big concern : am using airtel service for the last 2 days without the eligibility/option to make any outgoing calls where i have not done any mistake from my end.

I request your team to look into this issue and come up with a solution at the earliest. I am completely dis-satisfied with the service of the store person and the ir-responsible customer care agents.
