[Resolved]  Airtel — Complaint regarding the wrong plan given to me on availing Airtel Broadband connection.

I am from Gwalior, MP and I had taken Airtel broadband connection on 31st July by calling an Airtel Official in Gwalior(Santosh Kirar). I asked him regarding the plans and finally told him to give me the Rs. 499 6months plan. To which he asked for the payment and I made payment of the same. After the connection was done, I received a message saying that my plan of Rs 999 3months has been activated. I immediately called the official and told him about the wrong plan. He said that he was busy in a meeting because of which he mistakenly chose the wrong plan. And said that the plan will be corrected by next working day. After getting no message regarding the change of plan I called again and he connected me to another official(Tariq Khan) who told that he has put a request in the system and my plan will be changed in 1-2 days. Now again I called him after 2 days, he always said that the plan will be changed in 2hours or by evening but it never did. Finally after around 20-25 days of regular calling he said that it will be finally completed by evening, to which I said ok.
And now after 3 months(around October end), I again got messages that my 999 3 months plan is expired and I started to get calls from Airtel Customer Care. I told them the whole issue to which they said to email the entire issue to [protected]@in.airtel.com and I sent the same along with all the proofs on 24th October 2021 and they also changed my plan to Rs 499/month. But till date, I haven't got any reply from them. And now in December, I again have got 10+ calls from Customer care regarding the non-payment of the bill, I told every single of them the entire issue and everyone said that they are filing a ticket for the same and an executive will call me in next few days. But after every day, I get calls from customer care executive regarding non-payment of bill and I say that a ticket should have been filed in the system, but every time they said there is no ticket recorded in the system. I have to tell them the whole issue every time. Finally on 25th December, I called customer care and he filed a complaint for the same and said I will get call from a senior executive in next 30 mins. It's been 2 days and I haven't got any call till now, instead got call from another customer care asking for non-payment of bill. I am fed up of telling every single one of them about the entire issue and everyone misinforming me about the complaint filed where in reality they don't file any such complaint.

I want Airtel to provide me with the same 499 6 months plan which I had initially asked for and has to be valid until January 30th. It has been immense discomfort for me just because of the mistakes done by the Airtel officials and the customer care being so ignorant.

I sincerely request AIitel officials to look at my issue and provide me the compensation for the same and relieving me from all the hassles given to me in past 5 months from Airtel. I had always thought that Airtel had a good customer care service and hence chosen it above Jio even after the plan being a little more expensive than Jio. But after such an incident and all problems created for me, it really makes me to think about changing my view for AIrtel.

I got my issue resolved after so many hassles. I don't know what exactly made Airtel look at my complaint. But along with this platform I had mailed them and many calls to customer care regarding the same. Today I got a call from collection agent, to whom I described the whole issue again and at the end he agreed to settle the plan dues and provide me the compensation. But still the agent said a very senseless statement that Airtel renews bill cycle on 13th of every month. And as I took the plan on 31st July, my 6 months will finish on 13thJan considering the first cycle started from 13th July. This in itself is such a fishy statement. Since, the money I have paid is for 6 months and not as per the cycle so I should be provided the plan until 31st Jan and not 13th Jan(And I am not even asking for compensation of the last 1.5weeks in which my services were discontinued). She did not clear up on this front. Let's see how this will end. At least, I got a resolution to some extent. Thanks ICCF for this platform.
