[Resolved] Airtel — Deactivation of the active mobile number [protected] | |||
The prepaid mobile number [protected] is in my name G S Shashidhara and the connection is existing for about 10 years. On 06/12/2014, all of a sudden the connection went off and the mobile showed 'sim card registration failed'. To check what the problem is I dialled the number [protected] from another mobile. To my surprise the call was received by a gentleman. Upon enquiry, he told that he is residing in Bangalore and has taken the mobile number in the name of his mother. He applied on 4th Dec 2014 and got activated on 6th Dec 2014. I called customer care Airtel and explained the problem. They checked the name of the person and address which belonged to mobile number [protected] and confirmed that it is in my name only. When I explained the scenario which has happened, they told that they have not transferred my mobile number to any person. Notably they did not record any complaint saying that the records are fine. I even explained that this is unlawful activity on part of airtel to allot a number belonging to one person to another person when it is still a running number. If the person who at present using my number involves in any unlawful activities, all the blame comes on my head. But airtel customer care did not initiate any action. I am hereby pleading with you to take action against airtel for doing such unlawful activity which amounts to punishment and provide compensation for whatever the mental agony I am going through and also restore my connection.
