Description of incident: ported my number to airtel and got rs.5 as a starting balance (11:45 pm). Rs.1.5 deduction of balance reported for a message sent by my phone (Approximately 8 am). Interestingly, i was sleeping at that time and there is no record of a message being sent from my number. Called customer care and was told that a message was sent by 'some' application on my phone to number 58234 (Again, no record on my phone of an outbound message). Call escalated to senior representative named sachin kumar kashyap who firmly told that there has been a message sent and is hoping that he has resolved my query. This was immediately followed by a message from adairccm saying - "(1/2) thank you for contacting us. Hope the concern related to your airtel mobile [protected] has been resolved to your satisfaction. Your ref. No. Is cbdov[protected] registered on 17-aug-2017".
Incidentally, there has been other deductions of the same nature reported by many airtel subscribers and can be immediately found after a quick google query.
Desirable resolution of my complaint -
1. Refund rs.1.5
2. Provide steps to disable whatever automatic money deduction services you have enabled on any new number including my own for posterity. Was this information helpful? |
