[Resolved]  Airtel — Incorrect Information by Customer Care

Hi,

I am using Airtel DTH ([protected]). I spoke to Airtel Customer care on 21st November 2016 and checked what is the process to schedule and record the program . They confirmed that I am using Standard box and I need to upgrade to HD box and for that INR 600 and INR 180 yearly needs to be paid. I again called customer care on 22 November 2016 and reconfirmed the details and requested few more details. Again executive confirmed that I need to upgrade to HD box and pay INR 600 and INR 180 yearly and this will allow me to schedule and record the programs.
I placed the the request for upgrade on 23 November 2016. My SD box was upgraded to HD box same day. But site engineer told me I need to purchase remote also to record the program for that I was charged INR 170 extra. He told me recorder will be activated in 4 hour and after that I can schedule and record the program. When recorder was activated I tried to schedule the program for recording but there was no option for scheduling. I checked with customer care and they told me this feature is available in Some other box which will cost extra money . This is really unprofessional if HD box does not support scheduling they should have told me this upfront and they have also not told regarding remote. They should know if remote of SD box will not support recording and customer is specifically inquiring about recorder then remote also needs to be changed and they should tell the charges for this. Now I am asking for refund change of box to previous SD box but they are saying it's not possible. So that's how Airtel cheat customers. I will definitely get this disconnected and go for some other provider. But wanted to share this with others so that can take a wise decision of not going with Airtel. Thanks
